Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Support the deployment and maintenance of distributed infrastructure powering Nexus's Layer 1 blockchain and its high-performance decentralized exchange (DEX).
- • Assist in optimizing transaction pipelines for speed and reliability under the guidance of senior engineers, focusing on performance and fault tolerance.
- • Contribute to building secure, production-grade infrastructure systems that meet strict availability and latency requirements for financial workloads.
- • Help maintain high-availability infrastructure across cloud and distributed environments, ensuring consistent uptime for mainnet operations.
- • Learn and apply best practices for observability, reliability, and secure operations within a blockchain infrastructure context.
- • Work closely with senior engineers, product teams, and protocol developers to align infrastructure improvements with protocol-level goals.
- • Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure components using observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana to ensure system health and performance.
- • Participate in Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform or Pulumi to automate provisioning and configuration management.
- • Collaborate remotely as part of a cross-continental engineering team based in San Francisco and Buenos Aires, with a focus on the Latin American ecosystem.
- • Ramp up quickly on internal tooling, workflows, and blockchain-specific infrastructure patterns, delivering first meaningful contributions within the first month.
- • Engage in high-performance benchmarking and infrastructure tuning to reduce latency and improve throughput in transaction processing systems.
- • Contribute to the stability and reliability of a live blockchain network, ensuring consistent uptime and minimal service disruption.
- • Apply foundational knowledge of distributed systems concepts including consensus, fault tolerance, and latency minimization to daily infrastructure tasks.
- • Work with Docker for containerization and gain exposure to Kubernetes in managing scalable blockchain node deployments.
- • Maintain secure operational practices while interacting with cloud environments including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- • Communicate effectively in written and spoken Business English to collaborate across global teams and document infrastructure changes.
- • Grow technical proficiency in systems languages such as Rust or Go, applying them to infrastructure tooling and protocol support tasks.
- • Support the evolution of infrastructure primitives designed for long-term correctness, performance, and global scalability.
- • Participate in a high-performance engineering culture that values deep technical work, ownership, and continuous learning in blockchain infrastructure.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2–4 years of software engineering experience, with some exposure to infrastructure or distributed systems.
- • Working knowledge of Rust, Go, or another systems language.
- • Basic understanding of distributed systems concepts (consensus, fault tolerance, latency).
- • Hands-on experience with Docker; familiarity with Kubernetes is a plus.
- • Exposure to observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
- • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi.
- • Basic experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- • Eagerness to learn secure, fault-tolerant infrastructure practices.
- • Good written and spoken Business English.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Build the distributed infrastructure behind a next-generation Layer 1 blockchain.
- • Work on systems where infrastructure performance directly shapes the end-to-end trading experience.
- • Collaborate with top engineers in AI, cryptography, runtime systems, and distributed consensus.
- • Shape primitives and infrastructure designed for long-term correctness, performance, and global scale.
- • Join a high-performance engineering culture where deep technical work is valued and expected.

About Nexus Mutual
Nexus Mutual is a decentralized insurance protocol built on Ethereum that enables members to share risk through discretionary coverage products. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in London, the platform uses a mutual structure governed by NXM token holders who collectively underwrite smart-contract failure, exchange hacks, and other crypto-specific risks. Members stake tokens to assess claims and receive rewards, while policyholders purchase cover priced algorithmically based on staking levels and historical loss data. The protocol operates transparently on-chain, replacing traditional insurers with peer-to-pool risk sharing and automated claims assessment.
