• • About the Role: Infrastructure Security Design Engineer
• • This is an exciting opportunity for a developing Infrastructure Security Engineer to apply and expand your expertise in network security, infrastructure technologies, and robust security controls. You will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of secure infrastructure solutions. Your contributions will be integral to various infrastructure security projects, where you will perform essential security configurations and continuously develop your skills across a wide spectrum of network security technologies. • • Key Responsibilities:
• • Infrastructure Security Implementation Support:
• • Assist in the meticulous implementation of critical network security controls, including firewalls, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and proxies, always under the direct supervision of experienced professionals.
• • Configure fundamental network security policies and Access Control Lists (ACLs) with precision, strictly adhering to approved design specifications and best practices.
• • Provide support for the implementation of network segmentation strategies and Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) configurations to enhance network security posture.
• • Aid in the deployment and setup of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and secure remote access solutions, ensuring robust connectivity and security for remote users.
• • Security Technology Configuration:
• • Support the deployment and intricate configuration of essential security technologies such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions, and various endpoint protection platforms.
• • Assist in the seamless integration of new security tools with our existing IT infrastructure, operating under the watchful eye of senior engineers.
• • Participate in the testing and validation of security technologies to ensure they function as intended and meet security objectives.
• • Troubleshoot basic security technology issues, leveraging the expertise and guidance of senior team members to resolve challenges efficiently.
• • Security Configuration and Hardening:
• • Apply rigorous security hardening standards to servers, workstations, and network devices, ensuring a strong baseline security posture, always under supervision.
• • Implement industry-standard CIS Benchmark configurations for both Windows and Linux operating systems, minimizing vulnerabilities.
• • Perform comprehensive security baseline assessments utilizing automated scanning tools to identify potential weaknesses.
• • Security Monitoring and Incident Support:
• • Actively monitor security alerts and events generated by SIEM and other security tools, receiving guidance on interpretation and response.
• • Conduct initial triage of security incidents, performing preliminary analysis and escalating incidents to the appropriate teams for further investigation and resolution.
• • Technical Documentation and Reporting:
• • Create and meticulously maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation for all security implementations, configurations, and procedures.
• • Produce clear and concise network diagrams, detailed configuration guides, and operational runbooks, ensuring knowledge transfer and operational efficiency, always under supervision.
• • Security Testing and Validation:
• • Execute straightforward security testing activities, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support, under the guidance of senior security personnel.
• • Conduct vulnerability scans using industry-standard tools and analyze the results with expert guidance to identify and prioritize remediation efforts.
• • Validate the successful implementation and effectiveness of security controls against defined requirements and security policies.
