- • The Insurance Billing/Collections Assistant II (Appeals) role is critical to ensuring timely reimbursement for physician services by managing insurance follow-up, appeals, and payment resolution across commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, and self-pay claims.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include performing collection follow-up on financial classifications, making calls to insurers and patients, reviewing remittance advice for payment accuracy, verifying charge ticket completeness, contacting insurers and collection agencies, responding to payer inquiries, supporting customer service with billing questions, backing up Accounts Receivable staff during peak periods, and assisting in training coworkers.
