- • The Insurance Expert (AI Residency) role at Mentis Technology Solutions Inc. is a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI in high-stakes insurance domains by bridging deep industry expertise with cutting-edge AI development. You will directly influence how frontier AI models reason and make decisions in areas like underwriting, actuarial modeling, and portfolio management — ensuring AI systems reflect real-world professional judgment.
- • Day to day, you will develop and iterate realistic prompts to test AI-generated insights, systematically compare human versus machine judgment across investment, underwriting, and actuarial contexts, design frameworks that translate professional insurance risk evaluation into AI challenges, and construct and validate expert benchmarks using real-world underwriting cases, actuarial analyses, and investment frameworks.
- • Mentis AI is an expert intelligence platform partnering with leading AI labs to improve model reasoning in professional domains, starting with institutional finance. The team includes former professionals from Lazard, Partners Group, and applied AI research, operating across London and San Francisco, with a mission to enhance AI’s reliability in high-stakes decision-making.
- • In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in AI model evaluation and development, deepen your understanding of how AI can be applied to insurance workflows, contribute to building industry-standard benchmarks for AI reasoning, and position yourself at the forefront of the intersection between insurance expertise and artificial intelligence.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years of experience at a major P&C or Life insurance carrier
- • Associate or VP level in Investments, Underwriting, or Actuarial functions within insurance
- • Ability to articulate insurance-specific analytical judgment clearly and precisely in writing
- • Genuine intellectual curiosity about the application of AI in the insurance industry
