Your primary responsibility will be to design, coordinate, and submit comprehensive integrated systems drawings and detailed material/equipment schedules. This involves a deep understanding of project scopes, architectural blueprints, job specifications, and the ability to translate these into functional and compliant system designs.
- • You will be the technical backbone for our integrated systems, ensuring that all designs meet or exceed the stringent requirements of relevant codes and standards, including NFPA, IBC, UFC, and local building codes. This requires meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to code compliance.
- • The role encompasses all facets of the design process, from initial layout and conceptualization to detailed field checking, material and equipment submittals, defining installation requirements, and managing close-out procedures. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our systems are not only technically sound but also practical and efficient to install and maintain.
- • Integrated Systems can encompass a wide array of technologies, and your expertise will be crucial in designing solutions that may include:
- • Fire Alarm Systems: Ensuring robust fire detection and notification capabilities.
- • Intrusion Detection Systems: Designing comprehensive security perimeters and response protocols.
- • Access Control Systems: Implementing secure entry and exit management solutions.
- • CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) and IP Cameras: Developing surveillance networks for enhanced security monitoring.
- • Networking Infrastructure: Laying the groundwork for seamless communication between various system components.
- • Telecom Systems: Integrating voice and data communication infrastructure.
- • BDA (Bi-Directional Antenna) Systems: Enhancing emergency responder communication within buildings.
- • DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems): Improving cellular and public safety signal coverage.
- • Audio Video Systems: Designing integrated audiovisual solutions for various applications.
- • Nurse Call Systems: Implementing critical communication systems for healthcare environments.
- • Area of Refuge Systems: Ensuring safe zones for individuals needing assistance during emergencies.
- • Intercom Systems: Facilitating clear and efficient communication within facilities.
- • You will be expected to work with and understand the integration of various industry-leading manufacturers and platforms, including but not limited to Crestron, Extron, Honeywell, Notifier, Gamewell FCI, Silent Knight, Fire Lite, Siemens, AutoCall, JCI, and RATH.
- • This role requires a strong ability to interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings, understand client requirements, and develop detailed, accurate, and compliant system designs. You will collaborate closely with project managers, installation teams, and clients to ensure project success from conception to completion.
- • Your responsibilities will include conducting site surveys to gather critical information, verifying existing conditions, and identifying potential design challenges. You will also be responsible for preparing submittal packages, including drawings, specifications, and product data, for client and authority approval.
- • Furthermore, you will provide technical support during the installation phase, addressing any design-related queries or issues that may arise. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring that the installed systems precisely match the approved designs and meet all performance criteria.
- • Upon project completion, you will assist in the close-out process, ensuring all necessary documentation, including as-built drawings and operation manuals, is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
- • This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Integrated Systems Designer to contribute to a reputable company, work on diverse and challenging projects, and grow their career within the fire protection and security industry.
