Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • Assemble complex electro-mechanical subsystems, test racks, junction boxes, and associated components involving fabrication, component assembly, and integration for Omen autonomous air vehicle systems.
  • Build and sustain highly representative Hardware In Lab (HIL) and Hardware In The Loop (HITL) physical integration environments, including high voltage and high power hybrid powertrain testbeds.
  • Physically integrate developmental subsystems into crewed and uncrewed surrogate platforms to support ongoing flight test and maintenance operations.
  • Fabricate and assemble full-size Vehicle prototypes and mock-ups for Omen, a tail-sitter autonomous air vehicle with runway-independent operational capability.
  • Execute work with a strong safety mindset (stop, think, do) in experimental environments to eliminate potential harm to team members.
  • Document ‘as built’ and ‘as maintained’ configuration control of all integration environments and test setups.
  • Support the build, ground, and flight testing of prototype and production-representative Omen Vehicles and associated Support Systems.
  • Work in a lean, high-ownership culture where direct input shapes product development and new designs are flown within months, not years.
  • Operate in an R&D environment with rigorous quality systems typical of aerospace, electronics, or medical manufacturing sectors.
  • Collaborate on projects involving propulsion inverters, batteries, and hybrid powertrains with exposure to high voltage and high power systems.
  • Participate in the integration of Mission System modules and Iron Bird Hardware In The Loop (HITL) physical integration environments.
  • Maintain proficiency in reading component and electrical schematics to guide assembly and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Utilize basic electronics test equipment for preliminary troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Apply composites fabrication and repair techniques including pre-preg, wet-layup, and resin infusion where applicable.
  • Communicate effectively through excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to ensure alignment across engineering and test teams.
  • Uphold a sincere commitment to a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.

🎯 Requirements

  • Associate Degree (or similar) in Mechanical Technologies, Mechatronics, Composites, or related field
  • 5+ years of fabrication, manufacturing, or mechanical assembly experience, including assembly of electrical components, in an R&D environment with exposure to aerospace, electronics, or medical manufacturing quality systems
  • Participation in building and operating HIL/HITL/Iron Bird environments for flight vehicles
  • Experience in building and maintaining Group 2 or 3 UAS (or larger)
  • Competency in reading component and electrical schematics
  • Proficiency with basic electronics test equipment and preliminary troubleshooting
  • Experience working around high voltage and high power systems such as propulsion inverters, batteries, and hybrid powertrains
  • Composites fabrication and repair experience (pre-preg, wet-layup, resin infusion) an advantage
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance in the United States, United Kingdom, or Australia desirable

🏖️ Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants included in full-time offers as part of total compensation
  • Comprehensive, competitive benefits package available at little to no cost to employees
  • Support for health, recovery, and personal well-being through top-tier employee benefits
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge defense technology with real-world impact in autonomy, AI, and sensor fusion
