📋 Description

• Design detailed interaction models for AI-driven workflows, including how users initiate, monitor, pause, correct, and complete multi-step tasks in a proactive AI assistant.
• Define interaction states for AI interfaces such as idle, thinking, acting, waiting, uncertain, interrupted, failed, and recovered to ensure clarity and predictability in user experience.
• Create human-in-the-loop controls that enable users to review AI decisions, override actions, and maintain agency without micromanaging system behavior.
• Develop interaction patterns for delegation, approval, correction, escalation, reversibility, and recovery in non-deterministic AI environments.
• Produce detailed interaction specifications, annotated user flows, and functional prototypes for seamless engineering handoff.
• Collaborate with product and machine learning teams to translate system capabilities and constraints into intuitive, usable interaction designs.
• Conduct usability testing with real users to identify points of confusion, distrust, or friction caused by AI behavior and iterate on designs accordingly.
• Contribute to a shared, reusable library of HCI interaction patterns that standardize and scale best practices across the product.
• Design at the micro level — focusing on states, transitions, edge cases, and failure handling to ensure robustness in unpredictable AI interactions.
• Apply HCI principles including user control, transparency, feedback, and graceful recovery to guide all interaction decisions.
• Work closely with engineers to ensure interaction designs are implemented accurately and maintain fidelity from prototype to production.
• Design for systems where AI output is non-deterministic and behavior varies across sessions, requiring adaptive and resilient interaction frameworks.
• Exercise strong judgment on when to guide users, when to interrupt, when to request confirmation, and when to allow autonomous operation.
• Operate in a high-talent-density, fast-moving team environment that values independent execution, structure, and collective decision-making.
• Participate in an interview process that includes portfolio submission, two rounds of interviews, and a design assessment to evaluate practical skills and mindset.
• Contribute to building a truly magical AI product that delivers practical, reliable benefits to billions of users globally.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience as an interaction designer or senior UX designer with strong interaction design depth
• Ability to design at the micro level — states, transitions, edge cases, and failure handling
• Strong prototyping skills in Figma or equivalent tools
• Systematic thinking — ability to map complex AI behavior into coherent user-facing interaction logic
• Clear understanding of HCI principles: user control, transparency, feedback, and graceful recovery
• Experience working closely with engineers to ensure interactions are implemented as designed
