- • As an Intern - Analytics Analyst at Government Employees Health Association, Inc. (GEHA), you will contribute to a mission-driven nonprofit that empowers over two million federal employees, retirees, and their families to achieve health and wellness through comprehensive medical and dental benefits. This role offers a unique opportunity to support data-driven decision-making in healthcare analytics while gaining hands-on experience in a purpose-led organization committed to diversity, inclusion, and innovation.
- • You will rotate through GEHA’s Data & Analytics division, collaborating with business data analysts, data scientists, analytics engineers, and stakeholders to assist in projects involving reporting, data modeling, and insight generation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include performing supervised data analyses, preparing clear and visual communications of findings, ensuring data quality through benchmarks and controls, and developing proficiency in tools such as SQL, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Tableau. You will also gain exposure to healthcare data literacy, analytic platforms, and real-world projects that enhance GEHA’s analytic maturity.
- • GEHA’s Data & Analytics team serves as the central hub for integrating and managing data from diverse systems to enable timely, accurate insights for internal and external stakeholders. The team ensures data quality and reliability through vendor integrations and rigorous validation processes, supporting everything from clinical utilization analysis to enterprise sales reporting. As an intern, you will be immersed in this collaborative, impact-driven environment where your work directly contributes to improving health outcomes for federal beneficiaries.
- • Through this internship, you will develop core analytical and technical competencies, strengthen your ability to translate complex data into actionable insights, and build professional confidence in a healthcare analytics setting. You will enhance your visualization and storytelling skills, deepen your understanding of healthcare quality and compliance frameworks, and gain exposure to end-to-end analytics workflows—from data extraction and cleaning to analysis and presentation—positioning you for future success in data analytics, business intelligence, or healthcare informatics roles.
🎯 Requirements
- • Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program with a focus on Computer Science, Analytics, or a related field.
- • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA.
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated initiative, both independently and within team settings.
- • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the capacity to convey findings clearly through verbal and visual means.
- • Interest in healthcare quality, compliance, and accreditation processes.
- • Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
