- • The Inventory Management Coordinator at Medline Industries, LP plays a critical role in ensuring optimal inventory levels across branch locations to meet customer demand while minimizing supply chain costs and maintaining fill rate standards. This position directly impacts operational efficiency and customer satisfaction by preventing stockouts and overstock situations through data-driven inventory control.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include managing stock levels at the branch level in collaboration with Demand Planning, Buyer, and Product Management teams; monitoring and tracking inventory levels, service levels, surplus/obsolete inventory, and vendor performance against KPIs; analyzing root causes of inventory variances and recommending corrective actions; identifying opportunities for stock rebalancing to mitigate backorders; creating and following up on vendor purchase orders; resolving vendor-related issues; reviewing detailed inventory levels for stocked items; participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance KPI performance; coordinating with Inbound Operations on urgent vendor shipments; assessing inventory health status with Medline divisions; preparing customer-level inventory for new prime vendor distribution deals; and conducting root cause analysis on backorders for both new and established accounts, working closely with sales and implementation teams.
- • The Inventory Management team operates within Medline’s Supply Chain division, supporting a nationwide network of distribution branches. - • In this role, the individual will develop advanced skills in inventory analysis, supply chain coordination, and data-driven decision-making. They will gain hands-on experience with enterprise systems like SAP, refine their ability to communicate complex findings to stakeholders at all levels, and build expertise in demand forecasting, safety stock optimization, and vendor performance management. Success in this role can lead to progression into senior supply chain planning, analyst, or supervisory positions within Medline’s growing operations network.
🎯 Requirements
- • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Mathematics, Applied Statistics, or related field preferred
- • Minimum 2 years of related experience in Supply Planning, Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), or inventory/supply planning systems
- • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ability to analyze data and communicate insights and recommendations effectively to diverse audiences
- • Experience with SAP; familiarity with database applications such as Microsoft Access; exposure to BI/data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI is advantageous
- • Preferred: APICS CPIM or CSCP certification; prior experience in healthcare or medical supplies manufacturing/distribution
