📋 Description

• This part-time AI residency at Aptura Inc. offers senior investment banking and capital markets professionals a unique opportunity to apply their expertise in shaping how advanced AI models reason about high-stakes financial decisions, bridging institutional finance with frontier AI research.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and refining realistic prompts to test AI-generated insights, systematically comparing human versus machine judgment in M&A, ECM, DCM, and leveraged finance contexts, designing frameworks that translate senior banker deal evaluation into AI reasoning challenges, and constructing expert benchmarks using real-world transaction analyses and valuation materials.
• The team at Mentis AI combines deep financial services experience from firms like Lazard and Partners Group with machine learning and applied AI research, operating across London and San Francisco while collaborating with leading AI labs to improve model reasoning in financial domains.
• Participants will gain hands-on exposure to how AI is transforming deal workflows—from pitching and origination to financial modeling and transaction close—and will be among the first investment banking professionals to directly influence how frontier AI models reason about valuation, structuring, and capital markets execution, building practical AI literacy in a high-impact research setting.

🎯 Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in investment banking or capital markets at a bulge bracket or elite boutique (e.g., Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Bank of America, Citi, Barclays, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, Evercore, Moelis, Centerview, Lazard, Jefferies)
• Associate, VP, or Director level role across M&A, industry coverage, ECM/DCM, leveraged finance, or syndicate
• Deep expertise in at least one area: M&A deal structuring and valuation, equity or debt capital markets execution, sector-specific coverage, or syndicate/book-running
• Strong financial modeling skills (including LBO, 3-statement, DCF) and comfort with complex transaction analysis, fairness opinions, and client-facing materials
• Ability to articulate investment banking judgment clearly and precisely in writing
• Genuine intellectual curiosity about the application of AI in financial services
