- • Conduct deep fundamental research on software and technology companies, including both publicly listed and privately owned entities, to support multi-million-dollar investment decisions.
- • Perform strategic due diligence and financial analysis using quantitative modeling and qualitative insights gathered from expert interviews with industry professionals.
- • Deliver high-quality, actionable research deliverables that directly inform investment and strategic decisions for clients and internal stakeholders.
- • Monitor and track a portfolio of pre-identified technology companies on a daily basis to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
- • Prepare comprehensive financial research reports, strategic screening analyses, and communication materials for internal and external audiences.
- • Lead structured interviews in English with professional experts across the technology and investment ecosystem to validate assumptions and extract proprietary insights.
- • Collaborate closely with a team of experienced research analysts and former Tier 1 management consultants (ex-McKinsey, BCG) to enhance research depth and quality.
- • Support the continuous improvement of research processes, screening methodologies, and internal workflows to increase efficiency and analytical rigor.
- • Contribute to the identification and initial screening of new technology companies for potential inclusion in the firm’s research universe.
- • Communicate complex financial and strategic findings clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, to internal teams and external clients.
- • Grow within the role by taking on increasing responsibilities, including leading projects, mentoring junior analysts, and shaping the Lisbon team’s research direction.
- • Operate in a fast-paced, intellectually demanding environment that values precision, curiosity, and impact over routine tasks.
- • Work within a global team with diverse international backgrounds, contributing to a culture that prioritizes analytical excellence and continuous learning.
- • Engage with a network of over 10,000 market professionals and an advisory board comprising leading private equity, growth equity, and tech unicorn founders.
- • Maintain a strong focus on the B2B software sector, leveraging Dedale’s specialized expertise in technology due diligence across North America and Europe.
- • Adapt to evolving research priorities and client demands while maintaining rigorous standards for data accuracy and strategic insight.
🎯 Requirements
- • Tier 1 engineering or business school graduate with specialization in Business, Finance, Corporate Finance, Engineering, or Strategy
- • 1–2 years of relevant experience in strategy, finance, or business roles, including internships in finance, tech, startup, or corporate environments
- • Excellent analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and data analysis
- • Strong strategic thinking ability to identify key inputs and draw meaningful correlations from complex data
- • Native or fluent written and spoken English proficiency
- • Passion for technology, innovation, and investment
