  • • As the IT & Cybersecurity Manager at Reveal Tech, Inc., you will be at the forefront of safeguarding our innovative technology and internal operations. Founded in 2019, Reveal is a dynamic startup dedicated to revolutionizing field operations by delivering cutting-edge software tools and intelligence to operators in remote, disconnected, and extreme environments. We are the Digital Arms Room for the Modern Warrior, providing a tactical intelligence and automation platform for physical, human, and digital terrain at the edge. Our flagship products, Farsight and Identifi, are complemented by Chronos and Anomaly 6, further solidifying our position in the defense and national security sectors. We are a mission-driven company serving defense, security, and public safety needs where time is critical, information is contested, and precision is paramount. As we scale our team and technology to meet accelerating demands, your role in ensuring our IT infrastructure and data security is robust and compliant will be critical to our success.
  • • This pivotal role encompasses the comprehensive management of our internal IT operations, the stringent enforcement of information security protocols, and the meticulous oversight of compliance initiatives. You will be the primary architect and guardian of our corporate IT environment, ensuring its stability, efficiency, and security.
  • • A core responsibility will be to implement and maintain robust security controls that are meticulously aligned with stringent standards such as CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification), NIST 800-171, and their international equivalents, including ISO 27001 and the UK MOD DefStan 05-138. Your expertise will ensure that Reveal Tech not only meets but exceeds these critical regulatory and industry requirements, providing our clients with the utmost confidence in our security posture.
  • • Beyond internal IT, you will play a crucial supporting role in our product security efforts. This includes contributing to the development and maintenance of STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) documentation and supporting the achievement of ATO (Authority to Operate) for our products. Your work will directly impact our ability to secure contracts and assure customers of the integrity and security of the solutions we provide.
  • • You will lead the strategic planning, implementation, and ongoing management of all IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, cloud services, endpoints, and software applications. This involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure seamless operations and high availability.
  • • Develop and execute comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to protect company assets, intellectual property, and sensitive data from internal and external threats. This includes vulnerability management, incident response, and disaster recovery planning.
  • • Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and implement appropriate mitigation strategies. You will stay abreast of the evolving threat landscape and adapt our security measures accordingly.
  • • Manage vendor relationships for IT and security services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to service level agreements.
  • • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the IT team, fostering a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • • Oversee the procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management of IT hardware and software, ensuring alignment with business needs and security requirements.
  • • Develop and deliver IT and cybersecurity training programs for employees to promote best practices and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • • Manage user access controls, identity and access management (IAM) solutions, and data loss prevention (DLP) strategies.
  • • Ensure compliance with all relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and industry-specific compliance frameworks.
  • • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to embed security considerations into the product development lifecycle, from design to deployment.
  • • Be prepared to respond to and manage security incidents, leading investigations, coordinating remediation efforts, and communicating with stakeholders.
  • • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the IT and cybersecurity functions, leveraging new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • • This role requires a proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution in a fast-paced startup environment.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and cybersecurity operations, preferably within a defense, government contracting, or highly regulated industry.
  • • Deep understanding of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001, and relevant government security directives (e.g., STIGs).
  • • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • • Experience with cloud security best practices (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate complex security risks.
  • • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and build strong relationships across teams.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and equity package.
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holidays.
  • • Remote work flexibility within the USA.
  • • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning.
  • • Be part of a mission-driven company making a significant impact in national security and defense.
