- • Akaysha Energy is at the forefront of the global transition to cleaner energy, building, owning, and operating powerful mega-scale battery storage solutions (BESS). We are committed to a sustainable future, and our mission is to construct more advanced energy storage systems to meet the world's growing demands.
- • As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you will play a pivotal role within our dedicated Cyber team, responsible for implementing and enhancing best practices across our three operational BESS sites. Your primary focus will be on embedding security by design principles, systematically reducing attack surfaces, significantly improving visibility into our security posture, and ensuring the unwavering reliability and availability of our critical assets.
- • This position offers a unique opportunity to operationalize and optimize cybersecurity practices across Akaysha’s distinct environments: the operational BESS (OT) and the corporate IT infrastructure. You will navigate the nuanced security considerations and priorities inherent in both domains, allowing you to deepen your expertise in OT security while remaining current with the latest advancements in IT security practices.
- • You will be instrumental in advancing Akaysha’s cyber maturity. Your contributions will have a tangible impact as you:
- • Own and enhance key security platforms, establishing consistent, scalable processes for analyzing alerts, prioritizing risks, and driving timely remediation of vulnerabilities. This involves close collaboration with internal and external delivery teams to ensure a unified approach to security.
- • Oversee all OT-related penetration testing engagements. This includes meticulous planning, effective execution, and rigorous validation of remediation activities, ensuring seamless coordination with relevant internal and external stakeholders to address identified weaknesses.
- • Drive the uplift of our cyber logging, monitoring, and incident response capabilities. Your efforts will enhance visibility, improve log quality, strengthen event correlation, and refine response workflows across both our IT and OT environments, leading to a more robust and responsive security operation.
- • Integrate threat intelligence into our incident response workflows, enabling proactive defense strategies and a more informed approach to threat mitigation.
- • Your expertise will be crucial in managing and improving our security tools and solutions. This involves designing, implementing, and operating security tools that effectively mitigate cyber risks and ensure adherence to established cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- • You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive vulnerability management programs. This includes evaluating system and application vulnerabilities, interpreting their security impact, and using this analysis to inform our risk posture and prioritize remediation efforts.
- • A key aspect of this role involves applying cybersecurity frameworks to guide control selection, conduct thorough risk assessments, and design security measures that align precisely with Akaysha’s organizational objectives and risk appetite.
- • You will contribute to the continuous improvement of our security architecture, ensuring it remains resilient against evolving threats and supports the company's strategic growth objectives.
- • This role requires participation in an on-call roster to provide essential after-hours support for critical cyber incidents and urgent operational matters, strictly in accordance with company policies and established incident response procedures. This ensures continuous protection of our vital energy infrastructure.
- • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Engineering, and Operations, to foster a strong security-aware culture throughout the organization.
- • The position involves staying abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies relevant to the energy sector and industrial control systems.
- • You will contribute to the development and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring they are practical, effective, and aligned with industry best practices.
- • This role is based in either our Cremorne, Victoria, or Sydney, New South Wales office, offering a hybrid work model that balances in-office collaboration with the flexibility of remote work.
