- • Astreya Partners is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Deployment Engineer II to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for the design, development, building, and testing of sophisticated network and server infrastructure within data centers and Point of Presence (POP) sites across the assigned region. You will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation and expansion of our clients' critical IT environments, working with cutting-edge technologies.
- • As a Network Deployment Engineer II, you will apply company policies and procedures to resolve a wide range of technical issues. You will tackle problems of moderate scope, requiring a balance of independent judgment and adherence to established guidelines. While you will receive general instructions on routine tasks, you can expect detailed guidance on new and complex projects, fostering continuous learning and professional growth.
- • Your primary responsibility will be the deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of a large-scale production and corporate network and server infrastructure. This involves hands-on work in data centers and POP sites, ensuring high availability and performance.
- • A key aspect of this role involves calculating and documenting equipment power requirements. You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Facilities Operations, and collocation vendors to ensure these power needs are met efficiently and safely, maintaining the integrity of the infrastructure.
- • You will actively participate in project timelines, ensuring that network turn-ups are completed within expected intervals. This requires meticulous planning, execution, and coordination with various stakeholders to meet project deadlines.
- • Asset management of networking gear within data centers and POP sites is a critical function. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of all network equipment, ensuring accountability and facilitating efficient inventory management.
- • Proactive contribution to documentation, automation, and process improvement is highly valued. You will have the opportunity to enhance existing workflows and develop new solutions that increase efficiency and reliability across the infrastructure.
- • You will be responsible for creating detailed technical documentation, including network and server rack face elevations, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and precise port maps. This documentation is essential for new deployments and for maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the existing infrastructure.
- • Developing statements of work (SOWs) for vendors at POP sites will be part of your remit. This involves clearly defining project requirements, scope, and deliverables to ensure successful vendor engagements.
- • You will prepare cage and rack designs, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the overall needs and constraints of POP infrastructure, ensuring optimal space utilization and accessibility.
- • Adherence to and improvement of Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) processes and procedures for all relevant vendors is expected. You will ensure that equipment returns and replacements are handled efficiently and in accordance with vendor agreements.
- • You will be expected to follow, improve, and implement data center and POP best practices. This includes staying abreast of industry standards and contributing to the continuous enhancement of our operational procedures.
- • Providing necessary escalations to higher support tiers will be part of your role. You will also assist Sales and Customer Support teams with technical operations, and collaborate with internal departments to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
- • Close collaboration with Network Engineering, Logistics, and equipment vendors is essential as new equipment and technologies are integrated into the production network. This ensures a smooth transition and successful implementation of new solutions.
- • You will utilize internal tools and scripts to configure, monitor, and repair servers and network equipment, contributing to the operational efficiency of the infrastructure.
- • Detecting and diagnosing various error and failure conditions across an array of server types is a key troubleshooting responsibility. Your ability to quickly identify and resolve issues will minimize downtime and maintain service continuity.
- • This role may involve other duties as required, reflecting the dynamic nature of IT infrastructure management. The provided list is not exhaustive, and you will be expected to adapt to evolving needs and responsibilities.
