Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • As a Junior AP Accountant at AMBOSS Technologies Inc., you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational smoothness of our rapidly growing company. This position is designed for an individual with a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and a passion for contributing to a mission-driven organization. You will be instrumental in managing the full procure-to-pay cycle, from the initial receipt of vendor invoices to the final disbursement of payments, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency at every step.
- • Your primary responsibility will involve the meticulous processing of vendor invoices. This includes verifying the accuracy of all details, ensuring proper tax coding, particularly for VAT, and accurately posting these transactions into our accounting system. You will be expected to adhere strictly to internal controls and established approval workflows, safeguarding the company's financial assets and maintaining robust compliance standards. This hands-on experience will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of transactional accounting and its importance in the broader financial landscape.
- • You will serve as a key point of contact for our valued vendors, addressing inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and fostering strong, professional relationships. A significant part of your role will involve regular account reconciliations to ensure that our records accurately reflect our obligations. Furthermore, you will collaborate closely with the Treasury department to ensure that payment runs are processed accurately and on time, maintaining positive vendor relationships and supporting the company's cash flow management.
- • Managing employee travel and expense (T&E) claims is another critical aspect of this role. You will oversee the processing of expense reports, ensuring that all claims are meticulously documented, comply with relevant tax regulations, and align with AMBOSS's internal T&E policies. This requires a thorough understanding of expense policies and the ability to identify and flag any non-compliant submissions, contributing to cost control and financial discipline.
- • You will actively participate in month-end closing activities, providing essential support to the wider Finance team. This includes preparing necessary reconciliations, ensuring all AP-related entries are complete and accurate, and generating reliable AP data for financial reporting. Your contributions will be vital in enabling the Finance team to produce timely and accurate financial statements.
- • AMBOSS is committed to continuous improvement, and as a Junior AP Accountant, you will be encouraged to drive efficiency within the AP and T&E functions. This involves identifying opportunities for process automation, suggesting and contributing to optimization projects, and embracing new technologies that can streamline workflows. Your proactive approach to process innovation will directly contribute to the scalability and efficiency of our finance operations.
- • Beyond your core AP responsibilities, you will act as a valuable resource for internal stakeholders across various departments. You will partner with colleagues to resolve accounting-related inquiries, provide support for ad hoc accounting projects, and contribute to a collaborative and efficient financial environment. This cross-functional interaction will broaden your understanding of the business and enhance your communication and problem-solving skills.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your accounting expertise in a dynamic, fast-paced, and mission-driven environment. You will gain practical experience in a full-cycle AP process, learn about international VAT regulations, and work with sophisticated financial systems. The insights you gain will be invaluable as AMBOSS continues its global expansion, making this a truly exciting and rewarding career step.
