📋 Description

• As a Junior Backend Engineer at Scale Army, you will contribute to the development, reliability, and scalability of a fast-growing B2B SaaS platform in the telephony and caller ID ecosystem, directly impacting customer trust, answer rates, and revenue generation for U.S.-based clients.
• Day to day, you will implement backend features and bug fixes using PHP, contribute to Go services under guidance, write and maintain SQL queries for MySQL/MariaDB, develop and test APIs, participate in code reviews, create automated unit and integration tests, assist with production troubleshooting, support CI/CD deployment activities, and document technical processes while collaborating with senior engineers.

• In this role, you will grow your technical proficiency in backend development, APIs, databases, testing, and deployment practices; gain exposure to modern SaaS architecture; improve code quality through mentorship and code reviews; increase ownership of backend systems; and build a foundation for long-term career development in a structured engineering environment with clear growth opportunities.

🎯 Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in software development or equivalent combination of professional experience, internships, bootcamps, and substantive personal projects
• Experience developing backend applications using PHP
• Experience working with SQL and relational databases such as MySQL or MariaDB
• Experience building or supporting APIs and backend services
• Experience using Git, pull requests, and version control workflows
• Strong understanding of PHP development principles and backend application architecture
