  • • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements including SaaS terms, healthcare provider contracts, data processing agreements, and technology partnerships across global markets.
  • • Provide practical, risk-balanced legal advice that aligns with operational realities in a fast-moving AI-driven healthtech environment.
  • • Work across diverse legal domains: technology law, privacy, health regulation, employment/HR, commercial contracting, leasing, and capital raising.
  • • Support product and regulatory strategy for AI, large language models (LLMs), and generative AI by translating technical concepts into legal and governance frameworks.
  • • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to understand technical systems and assess their legal and compliance implications.
  • • Navigate jurisdiction-specific legal, compliance, and health regulatory requirements to support Heidi’s global expansion in the US, UK, Canada, and Europe.
  • • Lead or contribute to Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), risk assessments, and regulatory submissions.
  • • Support certification processes including ISO 27001, SOC2, and Cyber Essentials+ and respond to security due diligence and audits.
  • • Draft, maintain, and update internal legal policies and governance procedures; contribute to employee training on compliance and legal standards.
  • • Assist with capital raising and financing activities: prepare and review term sheets, subscription agreements, manage data rooms, coordinate legal workstreams for equity and debt raises, and liaise with investors and external counsel.
  • • Represent Heidi at industry conferences, panels, and external events requiring legal, regulatory, or governance expertise.
  • • Manage external legal counsel as needed, ensuring alignment with company priorities and cost efficiency.
  • • Operate with autonomy in a high-ambiguity environment, prioritizing high-impact matters and avoiding over-engineering low-risk issues.
  • • Maintain deep awareness of evolving regulatory landscapes in digital health and AI across multiple jurisdictions.
  • • Communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to non-legal stakeholders across product, engineering, sales, and operations teams.
  • • Demonstrate proactive initiative in identifying legal risks and proposing solutions without requiring close supervision.
  • • Push back on priorities that conflict with company values, compliance standards, or long-term sustainability goals.
  • • Cultivate a strong interest in AI, digital health innovation, and the future of care delivery, and remain open to continuous learning in technical domains.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Qualified lawyer admitted to practice in Australia, Canada, or the United States with 1–4 years of post-qualification experience.
  • • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with the ability to deliver legally sound yet practical advice.
  • • Technically curious and capable of quickly learning complex systems such as LLMs, generative AI, and cloud-based architectures.
  • • Experience or familiarity with cross-jurisdictional legal matters (AU, UK/EU, US, Canada) is highly regarded.
  • • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate legal complexity into clear, business-friendly guidance.
  • • Self-motivated and proactive, with strong judgment to drive matters forward independently.
