- • Lead the strategic management and development of key airline partners in the U.S. market to expand Despegar’s air inventory and strengthen market position.
- • Serve as the primary strategic interface between global airline partners and Despegar’s regional management team, ensuring alignment on commercial objectives and operational execution.
- • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new business opportunities with U.S.-based airlines and air suppliers to increase inventory breadth and competitive pricing.
- • Negotiate and secure favorable commercial terms, including commission structures, fare agreements, capacity allocations, and service-level agreements with airline partners.
- • Centralize and analyze market intelligence, competitor activity, and airline performance data to inform strategic decision-making and drive inventory growth.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally with commercial, finance, product, and technology teams to ensure seamless integration of new airline partnerships into Despegar’s platform and customer experience.
- • Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to air inventory growth, partner performance, and revenue contribution from U.S. airline sources.
- • Proactively anticipate market shifts and airline industry trends to position Despegar as a preferred partner in the U.S. travel ecosystem.
- • Drive accountability and ownership of assigned accounts, setting ambitious targets and consistently exceeding expectations through relentless execution.
- • Maintain strong, trust-based relationships with airline stakeholders through regular communication, transparent reporting, and value-driven collaboration.
- • Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and proposing data-backed solutions to enhance air sourcing efficiency and profitability.
- • Ensure all commercial agreements comply with internal policies and regional regulatory requirements while optimizing for scalability and long-term partnership value.
- • Represent Despegar at industry events, meetings, and negotiations to reinforce brand credibility and expand network within the U.S. airline sector.
- • Deliver high-quality, timely reporting and insights to senior leadership on air sourcing performance, partner health, and market opportunities.
- • Act as a change agent within the organization by pushing for process improvements, automation opportunities, and enhanced data-driven practices in air procurement.
- • Maintain a deep understanding of Despegar’s customer base in the U.S. and align airline partnerships with evolving traveler preferences and demand patterns.
- • Operate with a competitive, results-oriented mindset—never settling for meeting expectations, always striving to exceed them.

- • Proven experience in key account management within the travel, airline, or hospitality industry
- • Demonstrated success in negotiating commercial agreements with airlines or air suppliers

- • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, particularly with senior stakeholders
- • Experience managing U.S.-based airline partners or familiarity with the U.S. air travel market
