• As a dedicated member of the Know Your Traffic (KYT) team, your primary mission will be to combat spam and fraud, contributing directly to the integrity and reliability of Twilio's services. This role is crucial for scaling our efforts as the network continues to grow, requiring a proactive and analytical approach to problem-solving.
• You will leverage a powerful combination of data analysis, cutting-edge technology, and a deep understanding of customer needs to generate insights that strengthen our network and foster stronger customer relationships. Your work will directly impact the user experience by ensuring that communications are legitimate and unwanted traffic is minimized.
• This position demands a unique blend of investigative prowess and analytical rigor. You will act as a private investigator, delving into patterns of non-compliant activity, and as a data analyst, interpreting complex datasets to identify and neutralize threats.
• Your responsibilities will include utilizing Twilio's proprietary tools, alongside your own investigative skills, to detect, prevent, and mitigate non-compliant activities. This involves thinking like a spammer or fraudster to anticipate their tactics and proactively shut them down.
• You will employ a sophisticated mix of manual and automated tools, both internal and third-party, to identify suspicious patterns, conduct thorough investigations, and implement measures to prevent future occurrences. This requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to connect disparate pieces of information.
• A significant aspect of this role involves analyzing text messages reported by customers and carriers. Your classification of these messages as fraud, spam, smishing, or legitimate will directly inform our mitigation strategies and policy enforcement.
• You will be a key point of contact for handling incoming requests from both internal teams (such as Technical Support, Sales, Engineering, and Product) and external customers. Demonstrating exceptional customer service skills in these interactions is paramount.
• A critical responsibility is to read, interpret, and rigorously enforce Twilio's Messaging Policies and Best Practices. This ensures the protection and preservation of Twilio's network integrity against malicious actors.
• You will actively contribute to continuous process improvements within the KYT operations. Identifying inefficiencies and proposing solutions will be a vital part of your role in optimizing our fraud prevention efforts.
• Staying abreast of current industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving tactics related to text messaging spam and fraud is essential. This knowledge will empower you to develop and refine our defense mechanisms.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in fraud detection, information security, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop pattern recognition.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Willingness to work a non-traditional schedule, including North America hours, weekends, and holidays.
• Competency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
• Curiosity and a strong willingness to learn about spam and fraud within the Telecommunications industry.
