- • The LATAM Payments Manager role is critical to ensuring seamless, secure, and efficient payment operations across Brazil and Mexico, directly impacting customer trust, transaction success rates, and regulatory compliance in high-growth markets.
- • This position drives operational excellence by optimizing payment workflows, mitigating fraud risk, and enabling scalable growth through strategic partnerships with local payment providers and internal stakeholders.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing end-to-end payment processes such as deposits, withdrawals, refunds, and reconciliations; monitoring transactions in real time to detect and investigate suspicious or fraudulent activity; managing relationships with local payment providers and banks to resolve complex issues; analyzing payment behavior and trends to recommend new methods or improvements; leading process optimization initiatives through new SOPs, workflows, and automation; overseeing integration of new payment technologies with minimal user impact; ensuring compliance with evolving regulations and updating policies accordingly; and serving as the escalation point during system downtimes or critical failures to maintain continuity.
- • The Payments team operates within a remote-first, sustainability-focused fintech environment at Sportygroup B.V., where cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, risk, and customer support teams is essential to delivering reliable payment experiences across Latin America.
- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in LATAM payment ecosystems, gain hands-on experience with fraud detection and transaction monitoring systems, strengthen stakeholder management and cross-border operational leadership skills, and contribute directly to scalable fintech infrastructure — positioning you for advancement into senior payments, risk, or operations leadership roles.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or a related field
- • 3–5 years of experience in payment or financial operations within fintech, e-commerce, or related sectors
- • Fluent in English; proficiency in Portuguese and/or Spanish is a strong advantage
- • In-depth understanding of payment systems and fund flows
- • Experience working with payment gateways and PSPs; transaction monitoring experience is a plus
- • Strong analytical mindset with ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights
- • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating across internal teams and external partners
- • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment
