📋 Description

• Lead Accountant (R4209) at Shield AI, Inc. is a critical role responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational accounting functions that support the company’s mission of protecting service members and civilians through intelligent systems.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include managing general ledger accounting, preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, overseeing accounts payable and receivable, coordinating with external auditors, maintaining internal controls, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes in alignment with GAAP and corporate policies.
• Shield AI is a venture-backed deep-tech company founded in 2015 with offices across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, developing advanced AI-powered aircraft like the V-BAT and X-BAT, and software platforms such as Hivemind Enterprise and Hivemind Vision to support global defense and security operations.
• The role offers the opportunity to deepen expertise in aerospace and defense industry accounting, lead financial close processes, contribute to scalable financial systems in a high-growth environment, and gain exposure to complex revenue recognition and government contracting accounting practices.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA certification or active pursuit thereof
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in technology, aerospace, or defense industries
• Proficiency in GAAP and experience with financial close, reporting, and audit coordination
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
