📋 Description

• As a Lead Android Engineer (EMEA Remote) for Pragmatike Soluciones Tecnológicas S.L., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the mobile experience for a European deep-tech company pioneering a decentralized, energy-efficient alternative to traditional cloud providers. Your work will directly contribute to building sovereign, high-performance compute solutions that interface with distributed bare-metal infrastructure, enabling modern workloads to run securely and efficiently at the edge. This is not just another mobile app role — you will be instrumental in defining how users interact with next-generation infrastructure through intuitive, resilient, and performant Android applications.
• You will own the end-to-end mobile lifecycle, from architectural design and development to testing, deployment, and continuous improvement, ensuring seamless integration with backend systems while maintaining rigorous standards for performance, security, and usability. Your expertise will influence technical direction across teams, mentor engineers, and elevate engineering practices in a highly autonomous, innovation-driven environment where ownership and architectural judgment are paramount.
• The team operates at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and mobile innovation, building a platform that challenges hyperscale norms through decentralization and advanced automation. You’ll collaborate closely with backend, infrastructure, and product engineers in a fully remote, Agile/Scrum environment spanning EMEA timezones, where fluency in English is essential for effective cross-functional communication.
• In this role, you will deepen your mastery of Android performance optimization, distributed system integration, and modern UI development with Jetpack Compose, while gaining hands-on experience in secure data handling, offline-first architectures, and CI/CD for mobile releases. You’ll have the opportunity to mentor peers, drive best practices in architecture and testing, and leave a lasting impact on a product that is redefining cloud sovereignty and energy efficiency in the deep-tech SaaS landscape.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–6+ years of experience as a Senior or Lead Android Engineer with proven expertise in Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Strong proficiency in modern Android architectures (MVVM, Clean Architecture) and deep understanding of performance optimization, lifecycle management, and battery-efficient coding practices.
• Extensive experience integrating RESTful APIs using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, along with expertise in data persistence (Room, SQLite), caching strategies, and offline synchronization.
• Familiarity with Jetpack Compose for modern UI development, CI/CD pipelines for mobile releases, and mobile security best practices including secure storage and encryption.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with strong communication skills, ability to conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and influence technical direction.
• Knowledge of distributed systems or cloud platforms is preferred, particularly in deep-tech, infrastructure, or performance-critical environments.
