GoDaddy is seeking a Lead Android Software Engineer to join our dynamic Payment OS & Apps Team in Pune, India. This is a hybrid role, offering the flexibility to balance remote work with in-office collaboration, requiring you to reside within commuting distance of our Pune office.
- • In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of payment experiences. Our team is at the forefront of developing Android-based Smart Point of Sale (POS) Terminals and the associated software ecosystem. We are dedicated to creating secure, efficient, and user-friendly payment solutions tailored for banking partners and merchants, enabling them to manage and track their businesses seamlessly.
- • You will contribute significantly to the development of our Omni Channel Commerce products, focusing on delivering intuitive device, web, and mobile experiences. Our goal is to empower merchants and banking partners to serve their customers effectively while optimizing operational costs. As GoDaddy's Commerce business experiences substantial growth, we are expanding our team in India, establishing an India Design Team led by a Senior Engineering Manager, to drive this expansion and penetrate new markets.
- • As a Lead Android Software Engineer, your responsibilities will extend beyond coding. You will provide crucial technical leadership on mission-critical projects, demonstrating deep expertise in software architecture, design patterns, and industry best practices. Your code will be a benchmark for quality and efficiency, setting the standard for the team.
- • A key aspect of your role will be to champion and drive engineering initiatives aimed at reducing technical debt and fortifying our technical foundation. You will actively participate in strategic quarterly and annual roadmap planning, ensuring our technical strategy aligns with business objectives and positions us for long-term success.
- • Mentorship and guidance will be central to your leadership. You will actively guide and mentor junior engineers, fostering their growth in areas such as design, implementation, and code reviews. By encouraging a culture of engineering excellence and adherence to best practices, you will play a vital role in nurturing the next generation of GoDaddy engineers. Your involvement in hiring and onboarding processes will also be critical in building a high-performing team.
- • Collaboration is key to our success. You will work closely with Product Managers and a diverse range of stakeholders to define, influence, and gather requirements. Your focus will be on ensuring the delivery of solutions that are not only maintainable and scalable but also architecturally sound, with a strong emphasis on robust API design, comprehensive observability, and inherent extensibility.
- • You will also take ownership of operational excellence. This includes leading and supporting critical processes such as release management, participating in on-call rotations, driving incident response, and conducting thorough post-mortems. Furthermore, you will be instrumental in building and refining processes and systems designed to streamline customer care and ensure efficient issue resolution, thereby enhancing the overall customer experience.
- • This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology in the payments space, directly impacting the success of entrepreneurs worldwide.
