Full Job Description

šŸ“‹ Description

  • • Akersystems LLC is at the forefront of building and operating ground-breaking, ultra-secure, high-performance, cloud-based data infrastructure for large organisations. Founded in 2017 by experienced technology professionals, we leverage proprietary technology solutions to drive performance, reduce costs, and empower clients to enhance data management and sharing across their enterprises.
  • • We are a company that values culture and growth, recognised by the Breakthrough Culture Awards in 2024 and named a ā€˜One to Watch’ on the Sunday Times Tech Track in 2020. Our achievements were further highlighted at the Thames Valley Tech Awards 2020, where we won Thames Valley Tech Company of the Year, Emerging Tech Company, and High Growth Tech Business categories.
  • • As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and implementing secure cloud environments that host critical data and analytical platforms for both public and private sector clients. This role demands a forward-thinking approach, utilising the latest commercial and open-source technologies and methodologies to deliver robust and scalable solutions.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to architect, build, and maintain automated deployment pipelines using cutting-edge configuration management technologies. You will be instrumental in deploying new modules, upgrades, and essential fixes to our test and production environments, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
  • • Key to this role is the ability to build, test, and deploy cloud-based infrastructure and applications. You will champion the use of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles, ensuring our deployments are repeatable, reliable, and efficient.
  • • You will contribute significantly to the development and enhancement of custom test automation frameworks, ensuring the highest quality and reliability of our platforms. This includes performing ongoing script maintenance and updates to adapt to evolving requirements and implementation changes.
  • • A crucial aspect of your work will involve assisting with the setup and maintenance of environments dedicated to both manual and automated testing. This ensures our development and QA teams have stable and effective platforms to validate our solutions.
  • • You will provide essential support to our production environments by actively investigating and resolving incidents. This requires a proactive and analytical approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • • Performing ongoing routine application maintenance tasks will be part of your remit, ensuring the smooth operation and longevity of our deployed systems.
  • • You will actively participate in conducting gap analyses, identifying feasible alternative solutions, and contributing to the scope of modifications to enhance our existing infrastructure and applications.
  • • A significant responsibility includes participating in contingency planning, developing and implementing reliable backup and restore procedures to safeguard our clients' critical data.
  • • Meticulous documentation of functions and changes to new or modified modules, as well as detailed recording of test activities and their results, will be essential for knowledge sharing and future development.
  • • Beyond technical contributions, you will be a mentor to the team, driving them towards successful delivery and helping them meet our customers' stringent requirements. This leadership aspect is key to fostering a high-performing and collaborative DevOps culture.
  • • The role requires a proactive engagement with security best practices, ensuring all cloud environments and deployments adhere to the highest security standards, especially given the sensitive nature of the data we handle.
  • • You will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to foster a DevSecOps culture, integrating security considerations throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
  • • This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of cutting-edge technologies and to make a tangible impact on the security and performance of enterprise-grade data platforms.
  • • We are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace where you can perform your best work, irrespective of your background or identity.
