Lead Full-Stack Engineer (NextJS) - Contractor Full-time

📋 Description

• • Own the technical destiny of a mission-critical Next.js platform that powers the assisted-reproduction ecosystem. You will architect, code, and ship features that directly impact thousands of intended parents, surrogates, and fertility professionals who rely on SeedTrust Escrow for transparent financial workflows.
• • Serve as the “player-coach” technical lead: remain 60–70 % hands-on in TypeScript and Next.js while simultaneously mentoring 3–5 mid-level engineers through PR reviews, pair-programming sessions, and weekly architecture clinics. Your code will set the gold standard for patterns, testing, and performance.
• • Translate complex product requirements into elegant, scalable solutions. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Product Managers and UX Designers to break epics into shippable slices, estimate effort, and deliver on aggressive but realistic timelines. You will be the final technical voice in scope negotiations.
• • Drive the evolution of our front-end architecture. Evaluate and introduce new libraries, establish coding conventions, enforce accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1), and champion a component-driven design system that accelerates future development.
• • Champion quality and reliability. Implement automated testing strategies (unit, integration, e2e) that keep our CI pipeline green and our users confident. Establish SLIs/SLOs for core user journeys and ensure every release meets them.
• • Integrate AI/LLM capabilities into the product. Prototype and productionize features such as intelligent document classification, conversational support bots, and predictive analytics that surface actionable insights from escrow data.
• • Collaborate with backend engineers to design RESTful and GraphQL APIs, optimize data-fetching patterns, and ensure seamless end-to-end type safety across the stack.
• • Maintain security and compliance posture. Work with InfoSec to implement OWASP best practices, safeguard PII/PHI under HIPAA guidelines, and conduct threat-modeling sessions for new modules.
• • Foster a culture of continuous learning. Run internal tech talks, curate a living architecture-decision-record (ADR) repo, and encourage experimentation with emerging tools that can give SeedTrust a competitive edge.
• • Provide clear, concise, and timely communication to stakeholders across US Eastern Time. Lead sprint demos, publish post-mortems, and keep Jira/Notion boards transparent so everyone knows what “done” looks like.
• • Contribute to hiring and onboarding. Interview candidates, refine technical assessments, and design a 30-60-90-day ramp-up plan that turns new contractors into high-impact teammates within weeks.
