  • • Lead the end-to-end overhaul of Jerry.ai’s customer communication strategy by redefining brand voice across all organic touchpoints, including email, SMS, in-app messaging, and push notifications, transforming transactional content into empathetic, relationship-driven narratives.
  • • Serve as the sole owner of Jerry’s brand tone of voice, building it from the ground up without an existing playbook, in close partnership with the CEO, to establish a distinct, human, and trustworthy personality across all customer-facing interactions.
  • • Translate complex, emotionally charged topics—such as car insurance, repairs, loans, and maintenance—into clear, engaging, and accessible copy that reduces customer anxiety and builds long-term trust.
  • • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Growth, and Customer Insights teams to align messaging with user pain points, behavioral data, and product features, ensuring copy drives engagement, retention, and long-tail conversion.
  • • Craft and optimize lifecycle communication sequences that shift customer perception from viewing Jerry as a transactional tool to a reliable, caring companion in car ownership.
  • • Expand content ownership beyond lifecycle messaging into broader organic channels such as social media, Reddit communities, and other community-driven platforms as brand voice gains traction and proves effectiveness.
  • • Champion the unmeasurable value of emotional resonance and brand trust within a data-first, growth-obsessed organization, pushing back on purely metric-driven approaches when they compromise authenticity or user connection.
  • • Conduct qualitative research and synthesis of user feedback, support tickets, and community discussions to inform messaging that speaks directly to real customer frustrations and unmet needs.
  • • Maintain a relentless focus on precision in language, ensuring every word serves purpose, tone, and emotional impact—no filler, no jargon, no robotic phrasing.
  • • Establish measurable benchmarks for brand voice effectiveness through engagement metrics, sentiment analysis, and retention signals, evolving messaging based on iterative feedback and performance.
  • • Act as the internal evangelist for empathetic communication, training and influencing other teams to adopt the evolving brand voice across all customer interactions.
  • • Own the creation of a scalable brand voice framework that can be applied consistently across all future product features, campaigns, and customer touchpoints.
  • • Balance creativity with operational discipline, delivering high-quality, on-brand copy under tight deadlines while maintaining consistency across high-volume communication flows.
  • • Stay ahead of cultural and linguistic trends in consumer messaging, particularly within financially stressful or underserved consumer categories, to ensure Jerry’s voice remains relevant, fresh, and resonant.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 7+ years of experience in creative marketing with a primary focus on organic growth and copywriting
  • • Proven track record developing and executing brand voice and messaging across email, SMS, and social media for consumer brands
  • • Demonstrated ability to translate dry, complex, or emotionally heavy topics (e.g., insurance, finance, maintenance) into human, compelling, and accessible copy
  • • Portfolio showcasing original, high-impact writing that drives engagement and emotional connection
  • • Bachelor's Degree
  • • Comfort working in fast-paced, data-driven startup environments where you must advocate for qualitative, human-centered messaging alongside quantitative teams
