- • Lead daily pharmacy technician operations by creating and implementing workflow plans for daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to ensure uninterrupted order processing.
- • Develop and maintain standardized task sheets for daily operations and downtime activities to optimize team productivity and accountability.
- • Collaborate with the Lead Workflow Technician and Lead Clinical Pharmacist to prepare and coordinate the Pharmacy Technician schedule, aligning with RPh coverage needs.
- • Delegate daily workflow items, station assignments, and shipping responsibilities to pharmacy technician team members across alternative shifts.
- • Train new and existing pharmacy technicians on role-specific duties, particularly for evening and weekend shifts, ensuring consistent adherence to protocols.
- • Ensure full compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations, including those set by the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy and the FDA, in all aspects of prescription handling and drug management.
- • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations for the protection, use, and handling of protected health information (PHI) in all patient record updates and communications.
- • Accurately organize medications for pharmacist dispensing by interpreting prescriptions, preparing labels, calculating dosages, and assembling patient orders.
- • Perform stocking, labeling, assembling, and filling of medications and related tasks as permitted under Ohio state pharmacy laws.
- • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe pharmacy environment in compliance with FDA standards, including regular cleaning of equipment and work areas.
- • Follow all standard operating procedures to ensure infection-control protocols are upheld, protecting both patients and staff.
- • Review biweekly pharmacy huddle updates to stay current on operational changes and implement new directives promptly.
- • Support seamless transitions between day and night/weekend operations by ensuring continuity of workflow and task completion.
- • Assist in the development and implementation of evening and weekend workflow documentation to improve operational efficiency.
- • Adhere to all security and privacy rules regarding controlled substances and patient data.
- • Perform physical tasks including standing up to 100% of shift time, walking up to 50% of shift time, squatting and bending up to 20% of shift time, and lifting up to 50 pounds frequently during a 12-hour shift.
- • Work with Hazardous Drugs (HD) while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including gloves, respiratory protection, gowns, and other mandated gear.
- • Confirm understanding of potential reproductive risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity) associated with handling Hazardous Drugs.
- • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient profile records in accordance with state pharmacy regulations.
- • Utilize Windows-based computer systems to complete pharmacy tasks, update records, and manage workflow documentation.
- • Promote company culture by working collaboratively in a team environment and demonstrating commitment to operational excellence.
🎯 Requirements
- • 18+ years of age
- • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- • 2+ years of experience leading or managing a team
- • Active registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio
- • National Certification (CPhT)
- • Effective knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
