📋 Description

• The Director, Product Management (Data) leads the vision, strategy, and execution for NerdWallet’s data products and platform capabilities, ensuring data is collected, transformed, governed, activated, and leveraged to power exceptional fintech experiences and support financial empowerment for consumers.
• Day to day, this role sets long-term data strategy, mentors and develops multiple product teams, builds scalable data capabilities (pipelines, governance, ML/AI platforms), collaborates across engineering, analytics, design, compliance, and executive leadership, translates regulatory requirements into data solutions, champions responsible data practices, defines data metrics and KPIs, communicates roadmap progress to stakeholders, drives innovation through experimentation and A/B testing, and evaluates emerging technologies to guide investments.

• In this role, the person can learn to lead enterprise-scale data product strategy at a leading fintech company, build and scale high-performing product teams, deepen expertise in data governance and ML/AI enablement, influence executive-level decision-making, and drive innovation in data-driven consumer experiences while advancing their leadership in product management and data strategy.

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years in product management, with at least 5 years leading product teams and 3+ years managing data-focused or platform product areas
• Proven success owning large-scale data platforms, data infrastructure, or ML/AI product roadmaps in fintech or technology organizations
• Deep understanding of data architecture, governance, pipelines, analytics workflows, and cloud-based data ecosystems
• Strong track record building and scaling teams, defining org structures, and mentoring senior PMs
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing at the executive level
• Demonstrated ability to set vision while driving clarity and execution across complex, cross-functional programs
