- • Lead software engineer role at Watershed Technology, Inc. focused on founding and scaling the Mexico City engineering office as the founding Engineering Technical Lead, responsible for establishing technical vision, culture, and team foundation for a new co-located team of 4-8 engineers owning the Supply Chain product module.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include serving as the technical thought partner to the Engineering Manager, Product Manager, and Designer to drive product and architecture vision; collaborating with peer tech leads in the US and UK to align standards, roadmaps, and execution through the Technical Lead forum; mentoring engineers leading specific features or projects; writing performant, well-crafted, tested, and maintainable code across the technical stack; and fostering a culture of technical excellence and efficient execution within the team.
- • Watershed is an enterprise sustainability platform used by companies like Airbnb, Carlyle Group, FedEx, Visa, and Dr. Martens to manage climate and ESG data, produce audit-ready metrics for voluntary and regulatory reporting (including CSRD), and drive real decarbonization; the company has offices in San Francisco, New York, Denver, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, Mexico City, and remote team members across the US and Europe, with a mission-oriented startup culture focused on product-building and shaping a growing team’s culture.
- • The role offers the opportunity to bootstrap a team from the ground up, set the technical and cultural foundation for an entire office, gain leadership experience in a scaling mission-driven startup, deepen expertise in enterprise product development, and contribute directly to global decarbonization efforts through impactful technology.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years of experience building products with JavaScript/TypeScript or a similar object-oriented programming language
- • Strong full-stack development skills
- • 2+ years of experience leading teams or projects
- • Experience building enterprise products and understanding enterprise customer quality and service expectations
- • Experience working in a multi-national distributed engineering organization
