📋 Description

• Serve as Legal Counsel for Anduril’s Air Defense and Counter-Intrusion Business Lines within the Frontier Systems Division, focusing exclusively on U.S. government contracts.
• Drive customer growth by executing new government contracts and expanding existing ones, leveraging expertise in federal procurement law to support Business Development, Proposal, and Engineering teams.
• Manage the full lifecycle of government acquisitions, including evaluating major proposals, monitoring large contracts, leading negotiations, identifying risks, and ensuring compliance with federal laws, regulations, and policies.
• Build and maintain high-trust professional relationships with procurement office representatives at U.S. government agencies to support Anduril’s mission-critical contract success.
• Provide legal counsel across diverse business areas including negotiation of license and services agreements, bid protests, litigation, intellectual property, compliance, and employment matters.
• Represent the Legal Team in interactions with outside counsel, vendors, engineers, executives, customers, and regulators, acting as a key legal advisor across the organization.
• Navigate complex U.S. government procurement rules, including non-traditional contract vehicles, Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) coverage, software acquisition approaches, and data rights issues.
• Contribute to strategic business development by helping craft legal and business strategies aligned with Anduril’s goal of deploying advanced autonomy, AI, and sensor fusion technologies to the U.S. military and its allies.
• Operate with autonomy in a fast-paced, early-stage company environment, taking ownership of complex legal matters with limited supervision and adapting to evolving priorities.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure legal alignment with technical, operational, and business objectives in defense technology development and deployment.
• Support the Legal Team in addressing unexpected legal challenges that arise in a defense startup context, including areas outside traditional government contracts such as financing, securities, and compliance.
• Maintain a deep interest in the law and policy of defense acquisitions, contributing informed perspectives on how procurement practices can be improved to accelerate national security innovation.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of work on U.S. Government contracts matters, preferably with a law firm or in-house at a government contractor
• A solid understanding of the government procurement process, including contract vehicles and types, non-traditional contracts, CAS coverage, software acquisition, and data rights issues
• Licensed to practice law in California or the District of Columbia
• Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities
• Willing and able to work in-person at Anduril’s office in Washington, DC or Costa Mesa, CA; remote work is not available
• Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills
