- • Provide general legal advice and support to Megaport’s global group of companies, focusing on EMEA operations and business activities.
- • Review, negotiate, and draft master agreements and commercial contracts in alignment with company policies and risk tolerance.
- • Collaborate directly with the global sales team to provide legal training, guidance, and support on contract execution and compliance.
- • Review and approve public relations announcements, marketing materials, and other public-facing communications for legal accuracy and risk mitigation.
- • Draft, update, and maintain internal legal policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure regulatory and operational compliance.
- • Support legal operations initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, scalability, and standardization across legal workflows.
- • Assist the North America-based Legal Director and broader legal team on strategic projects, including cross-border regulatory matters and corporate governance tasks.
- • Work across multiple time zones to support global business needs, ensuring timely legal responses to commercial and operational requests.
- • Maintain a customer-centric approach by ensuring legal frameworks enable seamless customer experiences while protecting company interests.
- • Engage with external counsel and third-party vendors as needed to manage legal risks and resolve complex contractual or regulatory issues.
- • Stay current on EMEA-specific legal developments, including data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), telecommunications laws, and commercial contract trends.
- • Act as a trusted legal partner to non-legal departments, translating complex legal concepts into practical, business-ready guidance.
- • Contribute to a collaborative, values-driven culture by fostering open communication, curiosity, and integrity in all legal interactions.
- • Ensure all legal activities align with Megaport’s core values: collaboration over hierarchy, curiosity-driven growth, and uncompromised ethical standards.
- • Support diversity and inclusion initiatives by promoting equitable legal practices and welcoming applicants from all backgrounds.
🎯 Requirements
- • Qualified lawyer with admission to practice in a jurisdiction within EMEA
- • Minimum of 5 years of commercial legal experience in a corporate or in-house environment
- • Proven track record in negotiating and drafting complex commercial contracts and master agreements
- • Strong understanding of EMEA regulatory frameworks, particularly GDPR and telecommunications laws
- • Experience supporting sales teams and providing legal guidance to non-legal business units
- • Ability to work autonomously across multiple time zones and manage competing priorities
