Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the legal roadmap for PPRO’s next-generation payment products: from white-board concept to global launch, you will be the single point of contact who turns regulatory complexity into clear, actionable guidance for product managers, engineers, and commercial teams.
- • Draft, negotiate, and close mission-critical contracts—including local-payment-method (LPM) agreements, strategic partner MSAs, data-processing addenda, and product-development SOWs—ensuring every clause accelerates revenue while protecting PPRO from regulatory, financial, and reputational risk.
- • Translate evolving UK, EU, and global rules (PSD2, EMIR, GDPR, AML/CTF, consumer-credit, e-money, and cross-border data-flow restrictions) into practical product requirements, user stories, and launch checklists that the business can implement without slowing time-to-market.
- • Run horizon-scanning sessions with Compliance, Risk, Treasury, and Engineering to embed “compliance-by-design” into the product lifecycle; create scalable playbooks, decision trees, and template libraries that let non-lawyers self-serve on 80 % of recurring questions.
- • Partner with the Product Lead Counsel to design governance frameworks for new markets, new LPM rails, and new financial-instrument features; present risk matrices and mitigation options to the C-suite so leadership can make fast, fully informed go/no-go decisions.
- • Manage outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions, scoping work, controlling budgets, and synthesising 50-page memos into two-slide executive briefs that drive alignment across London, Singapore, São Paulo, and beyond.
- • Be the go-to adviser on ad-hoc legal hotspots—IP disputes, employment issues, corporate structuring, marketing-claim clearance—while never losing sight of the core mission: frictionless global payments.
- • Champion PPRO’s culture of “choose action, be open, think customer, go further, win together” by running lunch-and-learn sessions, mentoring junior legal colleagues, and actively contributing to cross-functional OKRs.
- • Continuously improve legal operations: automate NDAs in Ironclad, build contract-lifecycle dashboards in Jira, and introduce AI-assisted clause playbooks that cut red-line turnaround from days to hours.
- • Represent PPRO externally at industry working groups, regulatory roundtables, and fintech meet-ups, shaping the future of payments regulation while building the company’s profile as a thought leader.
