- • The Legal Director, Corporate and Capital Markets at Tala Mobile Inc. is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all legal matters related to corporate governance, capital markets transactions, and regulatory compliance in support of Tala’s mission to expand credit access for the global majority.
- • Day to day, the role involves leading corporate legal strategy, managing securities law compliance, structuring and negotiating debt and equity financings, advising on corporate governance matters, and partnering with executive and finance teams on capital raising initiatives.
- • Tala is a remote-first, AI-native fintech company backed by over $500 million in funding, with a global team and headquarters in Santa Monica, CA, and hubs in Nairobi, Mexico City, Manila, and Bangalore, dedicated to building credit infrastructure for underserved populations.
- • In this role, the individual will gain deep exposure to high-stakes capital markets transactions, shape the legal framework for a rapidly scaling fintech innovator, and contribute directly to expanding financial inclusion for millions across emerging markets.
🎯 Requirements
- • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
- • Minimum 10 years of legal experience, with significant focus on corporate law, securities regulation, and capital markets transactions (including debt and equity financings).
- • Proven experience advising public or private companies on SEC compliance, corporate governance, and complex financial transactions.
- • Strong ability to manage multiple high-priority legal matters in a fast-paced, remote-first environment.
- • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to partner effectively with C-suite executives, investors, and external counsel.
