  • • As a Level 3 (L3) DevOps Engineer at Knox Systems, you will be at the forefront of building, automating, and maintaining secure, compliant, and highly reliable cloud infrastructure essential for supporting the U.S. government’s most critical missions.
  • • You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing robust CI/CD pipelines across a multi-cloud environment, encompassing AWS, Azure, and GCP, ensuring that deployments meet the stringent security, compliance, and operational standards required for FedRAMP-authorized, multi-tenant cloud environments.
  • • Your expertise will be crucial in leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud resources, fostering a culture of repeatability and auditability.
  • • You will be instrumental in implementing and maintaining GitOps workflows, ensuring that all infrastructure changes are version-controlled, auditable, and adhere to best practices for secure and efficient operations.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will involve managing and configuring cloud networking, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and security group settings, meticulously aligning them with FedRAMP controls to uphold the highest levels of security.
  • • You will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining sophisticated CI/CD pipelines utilizing a range of industry-leading tools, including GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins, to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.
  • • Integrating Policy-as-Code frameworks like OPA, HashiCorp Sentinel, or Azure Policy will be a key responsibility, enabling the enforcement of compliance regulations directly within your automation workflows.
  • • You will embed automated validation, comprehensive testing, and rigorous security scanning directly into these pipeline workflows, ensuring that quality and security are paramount at every stage of development and deployment.
  • • Enhancing observability and reliability will be a core focus, involving the automation of dashboards, alerts, and metrics collection using tools such as Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, or Azure Monitor to provide deep insights into system performance and health.
  • • You will define and meticulously track Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) for critical services, establishing clear performance benchmarks and ensuring service availability and resilience.
  • • Collaborating closely with the CloudOps team, you will actively contribute to improving incident detection capabilities and developing proactive remediation strategies to minimize downtime and ensure continuous service delivery.
  • • Your responsibilities will extend to the secure management of secrets, credentials, and API tokens, utilizing robust solutions like AWS KMS, Azure Key Vault, or HashiCorp Vault to protect sensitive information.
  • • You will integrate CI/CD pipelines with federated identity providers, including Azure AD, AWS IAM Identity Center, or Okta, to ensure secure and seamless access control across the cloud environments.
  • • Enforcing least-privilege principles and implementing automated credential rotation policies across all automation systems will be critical for maintaining a strong security posture.
  • • You will be involved in building, deploying, and managing containerized workloads using modern orchestration platforms such as EKS, AKS, or GKE, optimizing for performance and scalability.
  • • Implementing deployment strategies using Helm, ArgoCD, or Kustomize will be essential for achieving automated and reliable container deployments.
  • • A key part of your role will be troubleshooting complex networking and application issues within Kubernetes environments, ensuring the smooth operation of containerized services.
  • • You will ensure that all IaC and CI/CD configurations remain compliant with stringent FedRAMP and NIST 800-53 standards, providing auditable evidence for critical controls like CM-2, CM-6, AU-2, and SC-12.
  • • Collaborating with FinOps teams, you will actively monitor cloud usage patterns and identify opportunities for cost optimization, ensuring efficient resource utilization without compromising performance or security.
  • • This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-impact, purpose-driven projects that directly support national security and essential public services, where your expertise will be visible, relied upon, and have an immediate, measurable impact.
  • • You will operate within a high-stakes environment where speed, rigor, and trust are paramount, contributing to the resilience and security of systems that cannot fail.

  • • You will contribute to a culture that values expertise, collaboration, and delivering exceptional results in a demanding yet rewarding setting.
  • • Your work will directly influence the reliability and security of critical government infrastructure, making a tangible difference in national security and public service delivery.
  • • This is an individual contributor role, offering significant autonomy and the opportunity to make substantial technical contributions.
  • • You will be expected to stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in DevOps, cloud computing, and cybersecurity to continuously enhance our infrastructure and processes.
