  • • Serve as the primary logistical architect for patients and their family caregivers, navigating the complexities of the Medicare system to ensure seamless, cost-effective, and well-coordinated care.
  • • Act as a high-level project manager for the patient’s health journey, managing everything from specialist synchronization to medication cost-containment without performing clinical diagnoses or therapy.
  • • Provide expert guidance on Medicare, benefits, and enrollment logistics, empowering patients and caregivers to make informed decisions and avoid costly mistakes.
  • • Review Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs) and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) for errors, file appeals for denied services, and resolve billing disputes with providers to protect patients from financial harm.
  • • Schedule and manage specialist visits, telehealth setups, and transportation logistics, ensuring that medical records are shared between offices to prevent redundant testing and streamline care.
  • • Identify medical billing errors, negotiate costs, and find pharmaceutical assistance programs to reduce out-of-pocket medication expenses, turning complex paperwork into actionable savings.
  • • Act as a single point of contact for the family, providing regular updates and educational resources that remove the stress of navigating bureaucratic red tape.
  • • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to maintain a 360-degree view of each patient’s needs, ensuring continuity and quality of service.
  • • Leverage data and feedback loops to continuously refine workflows, improve patient outcomes, and scale best practices across the Carewell ecosystem.
  • • Champion a culture of empathy, efficiency, and accountability, raising the bar for what caregiver support can look like in a category-defining business.
  • • Contribute to the development of playbooks, templates, and training materials that will empower future team members and expand the reach of your impact.
  • • Stay current on Medicare policy changes, state regulations, and industry trends, translating complex updates into simple guidance for patients and caregivers.
  • • Measure success through patient satisfaction, cost savings achieved, and reduction in caregiver stress, turning qualitative wins into quantifiable impact.
  • • Work remotely with flexible scheduling, maintaining high responsiveness while respecting your own work-life balance and professional boundaries.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Active, unrestricted LCSW, LMSW, or equivalent clinical license in at least one U.S. state
  • • 2+ years of direct experience navigating Medicare benefits, appeals, and enrollment processes
  • • Demonstrated success in medical billing advocacy, including identifying errors and filing successful appeals
  • • Proficiency with telehealth platforms, EHR systems, and digital scheduling tools
  • • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulations into plain language
