- • Translate content between English and native Marathi language while preserving cultural nuance, tone, and contextual clarity across digital platforms.
- • Edit and refine translated content for accuracy, grammatical correctness, and stylistic consistency with current language standards and usage trends.
- • Apply best practices in localization to adapt digital content for Marathi-speaking markets, ensuring linguistic and cultural relevance.
- • Evaluate and provide structured feedback to improve the quality of machine translation models and language systems used by Lilt.
- • Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to support content development, localization, and quality assurance for AI-driven tools and applications.
- • Perform transcreation when required, creatively adapting source text to ensure natural, idiomatic, and contextually appropriate expressions in Marathi.
- • Work on diverse project types including Life Sciences, IT, Marketing, Legal, and Finance content, adapting style and terminology to each domain.
- • Deliver high-quality translations on tight deadlines while maintaining strict attention to detail and consistency across batches.
- • Participate in quality assurance processes to validate output against client requirements and internal linguistic benchmarks.
- • Engage with a global community of linguists and language professionals to share insights and contribute to advancements in human-verified AI translation.
- • Accept tasks on a flexible, as-needed basis, committing to a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week when work is available.
- • Maintain reliable availability to ensure timely delivery of assigned projects without delays or unannounced absences.
- • Ensure all deliverables meet Lilt’s quality thresholds for accuracy, fluency, and terminological consistency.
- • Adhere to confidentiality protocols and data handling standards for all client and project materials.
- • Participate in onboarding steps including submission of CV, completion of domain-specific tests (if required), and finalization of contractor onboarding paperwork.
🎯 Requirements
- • Native-level proficiency in Marathi
- • Graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies OR a graduate qualification in any other field plus two years of full-time professional translation experience OR five years of full-time professional translation experience
- • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver high-quality work on deadline
- • Reliable internet access and technical capability to use digital translation platforms and tools
- • Willingness to comply with geographic eligibility requirements (no contractors from embargoed or sanctioned regions)
- • Understanding of 1099 contractor status and personal responsibility for tax obligations
