- • Translate complex content between English and native Odia/Oriya, ensuring cultural nuance, clarity, and contextual accuracy across digital platforms.
- • Edit and refine translated materials for tone, grammar, syntax, and regional language standards specific to Odia/Oriya-speaking audiences.
- • Apply current linguistic best practices, evolving usage trends, and industry-specific terminology in domains such as Life Sciences, IT, Marketing, Legal, and Finance.
- • Evaluate machine-translated outputs and provide structured, actionable feedback to improve the quality and fluency of AI-driven language models.
- • Localize digital tools, applications, and user interfaces for Odia/Oriya markets, adapting content to meet regional linguistic and cultural expectations.
- • Perform transcreation when required, creatively adapting source content beyond literal translation to ensure natural, resonant, and impactful delivery in Odia/Oriya.
- • Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to support end-to-end localization workflows for enterprise-grade AI and language technology products.
- • Maintain high standards of consistency, accuracy, and timeliness across all assigned translation and editing tasks.
- • Contribute to quality assurance processes by reviewing and validating localized content for functionality, coherence, and cultural appropriateness.
- • Engage with diverse, global projects that span multiple industries, expanding subject matter expertise and professional versatility.
- • Work independently on a flexible schedule, selecting and completing tasks based on personal availability and project interest.
- • Deliver work within agreed deadlines, ensuring all outputs meet Lilt’s quality benchmarks without direct supervision.
- • Participate in periodic assessments or domain-specific translation tests to validate proficiency and suitability for specialized projects.
- • Maintain active and reliable communication with the Lilt platform to accept tasks, report issues, and manage workflow efficiently.
- • Uphold confidentiality and data security protocols for all client content, adhering to Lilt’s privacy and compliance standards.
- • Adapt to evolving project requirements and emerging language technologies while preserving the integrity and authenticity of the Odia/Oriya language.
🎯 Requirements
- • Native-level proficiency in Odia/Oriya
- • ISO 17100 Certification Criteria: either a recognized graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies; OR a recognized graduate qualification in any other field plus two years of full-time professional translation experience; OR five years of full-time professional translation experience
- • Reliable internet connectivity and consistent daily availability (minimum 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week)
- • Ability to work independently as an independent contractor with no guaranteed hours or benefits
- • Willingness to pass domain-specific translation tests when required
- • Commitment to delivering high-quality, on-time work without micromanagement
