• Binance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Counsel to join our dynamic legal team in Brazil, based in Sao Paulo. This pivotal role will be instrumental in managing and overseeing all litigation and dispute resolution matters within the Brazilian market, ensuring Binance's interests are vigorously defended and proactively managed. • In this capacity, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive litigation strategies tailored to the unique legal and regulatory landscape of Brazil. This includes identifying potential legal risks, advising business units on mitigation strategies, and managing external counsel effectively to achieve optimal outcomes. You will play a crucial role in handling a diverse range of disputes, from regulatory investigations and enforcement actions to civil litigation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.
• A key aspect of your role will involve conducting thorough factual investigations, analyzing complex legal issues, and preparing compelling legal arguments and submissions. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including compliance, risk management, product development, and business operations teams, to ensure alignment and provide expert legal guidance on all litigation-related matters. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for understanding the business context of disputes and for developing robust legal defenses.
• You will be tasked with managing the entire lifecycle of litigation, from initial case assessment and strategy development through to discovery, trial, and settlement negotiations. This includes overseeing document review processes, managing e-discovery, and ensuring compliance with all procedural rules and deadlines. Your ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and maintain meticulous attention to detail will be paramount.
• Furthermore, you will be responsible for providing strategic advice on regulatory compliance and policy matters as they relate to litigation and dispute resolution in Brazil. This includes staying abreast of evolving legal and regulatory frameworks impacting the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry and proactively advising on potential litigation risks arising from new products, services, or market developments.
• You will also be involved in developing and implementing best practices for litigation management within the organization, including establishing clear protocols for case reporting, budget management, and the selection and supervision of external law firms. Building and maintaining strong relationships with external counsel, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders will be critical to your success.
• The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Brazilian civil procedure, commercial law, and relevant regulatory frameworks, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex litigation in a fast-paced environment. Experience within the financial services or technology sectors, particularly with cryptocurrency or blockchain-related matters, is highly desirable. Your ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to both legal and non-legal audiences will be a significant asset.

🎯 Requirements

• Admission to the Brazilian Bar (OAB) and a valid license to practice law in Brazil.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of post-qualification experience in litigation, with a strong focus on commercial litigation, regulatory investigations, and dispute resolution, preferably within a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
• Deep understanding of Brazilian civil procedure, commercial law, and relevant regulatory frameworks impacting the financial services and technology sectors.
• Proven ability to manage complex litigation matters independently, including case strategy development, discovery, motion practice, and settlement negotiations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to provide pragmatic and commercially sound legal advice.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English (essential for CV review and internal/external communication).
