📋 Description

• • The Manager Controllership, Cash Accounting (L09) role at Synchrony Financial is a critical individual contributor position responsible for driving end-to-end delivery of initiatives that strengthen cash operations, controls, reconciliation quality, and reporting within the Finance Center of Excellence. This role ensures accurate financial close processes and supports regulatory compliance through meticulous oversight of cash accounting activities.
• • Day to day, the incumbent will lead assigned Cash Accounting projects from intake to implementation, maintain deep expertise in end-to-end transaction flows and systems, identify and resolve control gaps and reconciliation breaks, define and track KPIs, coordinate cross-functionally with Treasury, Operations, Compliance, Audit, and Technology teams, maintain SOPs and documentation, perform root cause analysis on recurring issues, and support internal and external audits through evidence preparation and change management.

• • In this role, the individual will develop advanced expertise in cash accounting processes, gain experience leading cross-functional process improvement initiatives using Lean and automation, strengthen skills in financial controls and compliance, build proficiency in data-driven decision making through KPI tracking and dashboarding, and prepare for broader leadership roles in finance controllership or treasury operations.
