- • The Manager of Corporate Development is a high-impact role responsible for driving mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnerships across Cengage Group, directly supporting the company’s mission to empower learners through education innovation.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include leading financial modeling, supporting end-to-end M&A transactions (due diligence, valuation, business case development, deal execution), managing internal and external stakeholder interactions, maintaining acquisition target lists, and drafting investment memos for executives and the Board.
- • The Corporate Development team is a small, remote-based (ET) unit that works closely with the executive team and senior leadership across business divisions, operating with high visibility and influence in shaping Cengage’s strategic growth.
- • In this role, you will develop advanced financial and valuation modeling skills, gain end-to-end M&A deal execution experience, strengthen cross-functional leadership and communication abilities, and contribute directly to strategic decisions that impact millions of learners worldwide.
🎯 Requirements
- • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or a related field
- • 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, private equity, or corporate development
- • Strong financial and valuation modeling skills with proficiency in analyzing financial statements
- • Experience with M&A due diligence and deal execution
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to convey complex analysis clearly and build credibility across teams
- • Self-starter mindset with strong attention to detail, project management, and problem-solving abilities
