- • Manager, Dev Platform Engineering (R4979) at Shield AI, Inc. leads the development and scaling of internal developer platforms that enable engineering teams to build, test, and deploy software efficiently and securely. This role is critical to accelerating Shield AI’s mission of protecting service members and civilians through intelligent autonomous systems by ensuring engineering velocity and reliability across global teams.
- • Day to day, the manager will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code tooling, and developer self-service platforms; collaborate with software, hardware, and systems engineers to understand workflow needs; drive adoption of platform standards and best practices; mentor and grow a team of platform engineers; and partner with DevOps, security, and release engineering teams to ensure platform stability, observability, and compliance.
- • Shield AI is a venture-backed deep-tech company founded in 2015 with a mission to protect service members and civilians using intelligent systems. - • In this role, the person will learn to lead high-impact platform engineering initiatives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment; gain deep exposure to cutting-edge aerospace and AI systems; develop leadership and technical strategy skills; and contribute directly to the scalability and reliability of systems that support national security operations worldwide.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- • 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure roles with increasing responsibility
- • Proven experience managing engineering teams and delivering scalable developer platforms
- • Strong expertise in CI/CD systems (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- • Experience working in regulated or high-assurance environments (e.g., DoD, aerospace, automotive) is a plus
- • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to influence cross-functional technical teams
