📋 Description

• • As an Engineering Manager at Bonterra Tech Holdings LLC, you will step into a pivotal leadership role, guiding and mentoring 1-2 Scrum development teams. These teams, comprised of 2-4 Software Engineers of varying seniority and a dedicated QA Analyst or Engineer, are instrumental in developing and enhancing the technology that powers progressive causes and democratic campaigns. Your leadership will directly impact the success of organizations fighting for equality, racial justice, reproductive freedom, climate reform, and more, including national Democratic committees, thousands of campaigns, hundreds of labor unions, and advocacy organizations.
• • Your primary responsibility will be to foster a high-performing and motivated team environment. This involves not only technical guidance but also a strong focus on people management, ensuring team members are engaged, growing, and maintaining high morale. You will be a key player in the agile development process, collaborating closely with Product Managers and Tech Leads to accurately estimate and refine future work, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
• • You will be the eyes and ears of management regarding team progress and health. Regular reporting on team velocity, potential roadblocks, and overall well-being will be crucial for strategic decision-making and resource allocation. Your ability to identify and proactively address obstacles will be paramount to the success of your teams' projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
• • This role demands a blend of technical acumen and strong interpersonal skills. You will leverage your extensive engineering experience to provide technical direction and support, while your people management expertise will be critical in nurturing talent, resolving conflicts, and promoting a collaborative spirit within your teams.
• • The technology stack you'll be working with includes .NET (version 4.5 and above), C#, React, and some legacy Angular/AngularJS. You will also be working with Microsoft SQL Server 2017 and Azure SQL, within a hybrid Azure/Colo infrastructure. A deep understanding of these technologies, or the ability to quickly master them, is essential for providing effective technical leadership.
• • You will play a crucial role in the estimation and refinement of future work, working hand-in-hand with Product Managers and Tech Leads. This collaborative effort ensures that development efforts are well-defined, achievable, and aligned with strategic objectives.
