Manager, Material Scientist

📋 Description

• • Manager, Material Scientist at Hims & Hers Health, Inc. leads material science and pre-formulation efforts to support R&D and innovation, bridging early-stage drug concepts with final formulations to ensure quality, stability, and scalability across the product portfolio.
• • Day-to-day responsibilities include leading physicochemical characterization using XRD, DSC/TGA, Raman spectroscopy, and SEM; evaluating drug properties like solubility, pKa, logP, and hygroscopicity; designing excipient compatibility studies; managing external partner relationships; supporting material qualification; conducting risk assessments for critical material attributes; troubleshooting formulation issues; and building internal capabilities in pre-formulation and material science.
• • The role partners closely with the VP of R&D and Innovation and collaborates cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and other teams to address formulation and process challenges across development and production.
• • The person in this role will deepen expertise in pharmaceutical material science, lead technical teams, influence product development strategy, and help build scalable internal processes for innovation and quality assurance.
