- • As the Manager, Microsoft Security at SHI International Corp., you will be instrumental in driving predictable delivery outcomes for our clients' Microsoft Security consulting and engineering engagements. This pivotal role focuses on the comprehensive E5 security stack, ensuring that our technical teams consistently meet and exceed client expectations.
- • You will lead a team of skilled Microsoft Security engineers and consultants, fostering an environment of technical excellence and client accountability. Your responsibilities will include setting clear expectations, enforcing rigorous delivery standards, and ensuring that scope, staffing, and execution are meticulously aligned with client commitments.
- • A core aspect of this role is the proactive management of engagement scope, quality, and risk. Through disciplined delivery leadership, data-driven visibility, and timely escalations, you will safeguard project success and client satisfaction.
- • While not expected to be hands-on with every technical task, you will possess sufficient technical depth to accurately scope work, critically review deliverables, and intervene effectively when delivery or client expectations are at risk. This ensures that our solutions are not only technically sound but also strategically aligned with client business objectives.
- • You will directly manage technical professionals, holding accountability for their delivery performance, utilization rates, and the overall operational discipline across all active engagements. This includes owning the delivery operating rhythm for Microsoft Security services, encompassing resource allocation, maintaining visibility into engagement health, and ensuring clear, consistent communication with both internal stakeholders and clients.
- • Your leadership will ensure that our services deliver measurable business value and adhere to SHI Services' stringent delivery standards, reinforcing our reputation as a trusted technology partner.
- • **Team Management:** Directly oversee a team of Microsoft Security engineers and consultants, managing workload assignment, scheduling, performance reviews, and crucial career development. Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, providing structured, actionable feedback to each team member, and build individual development plans that align with certification targets and consulting skill growth.
- • **Capacity Planning:** Proactively manage team capacity across active engagements and the sales pipeline, identifying and flagging potential resource constraints before they impact delivery. Own the onboarding process for new hires, setting clear expectations from day one, and cultivate a team culture grounded in technical excellence, client accountability, and continuous improvement.
- • **Engagement Delivery Oversight:** Take ownership of delivery quality across all active client engagements. Review statements of work, project plans, and key deliverables before they are presented to clients. Serve as the primary escalation point for engagements facing scope, timeline, or technical complexity issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- • **Scope and Resource Management:** Ensure engagements are accurately scoped at the intake stage and that the team possesses the necessary resources and support to execute successfully. Conduct delivery retrospectives to capture lessons learned and integrate them back into practice standards and tooling. Coordinate closely with project management and sales teams on engagement health, timeline adjustments, and identifying expansion opportunities.
- • **Client Engagement Leadership:** Act as the senior point of contact for client stakeholders during active engagements. Lead kickoff calls, status reviews, and executive briefings as warranted by the engagement's complexity and importance. Translate client business context and constraints into clear, actionable direction for the engineering team.
- • **Relationship Management:** Identify and communicate expansion opportunities within existing accounts to practice leadership and sales. Maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with client security and IT leadership throughout the entire engagement lifecycle.
- • **Technical Guidance:** Maintain a deep working knowledge across the Microsoft Security stack, including MDE, MDO, MDI, MDCA, EIDP, Microsoft Sentinel, MDC, and Security Copilot, enabling you to critically review engineer work and provide credible feedback. Approve architectural recommendations, solution designs, and configuration guidance before client delivery.
- • **Problem Solving:** Coach engineers through technically complex scenarios and serve as an escalation resource for challenging problems. Stay current with Microsoft Security product updates, roadmap changes, and licensing shifts to ensure our delivery remains optimized and relevant.
- • **Process Improvement:** Evaluate opportunities to enhance delivery tooling, develop reusable intellectual property (IP), and create internal accelerators to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- • **Practice Development Support:** Contribute to the development of internal IP, including delivery frameworks, scoping tools, engagement templates, and runbooks. Support pre-sales activities such as scoping calls, solution reviews, and effort estimation. Provide valuable input on practice service offerings, packaging, and pricing based on real-world delivery insights. Represent the delivery perspective in practice leadership discussions regarding headcount, capability gaps, and strategic growth priorities.
