  • • Manage a team of Supervisors of Fiber Construction and Fiber Construction Managers to support district construction demands, capital allocation, and KPIs.
  • • Oversee day-to-day activities of fiber construction teams within Arizona, ensuring adherence to Zayo’s standard operating processes and procedures for network build, restoration, and maintenance.
  • • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including NOC, Engineering, Field Operations, and Change Management to improve process quality, deliverables, and end-to-end customer experience.
  • • Establish, monitor, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as fiber complete for small cell and installed enterprise revenue to measure operational performance and identify efficiency opportunities.
  • • Manage assigned CAPEX budgets and ensure all construction activities remain within financial parameters.
  • • Schedule and prioritize workload for internal fiber construction teams and external vendors to meet project timelines and service commitments.
  • • Develop and implement long-term district-level planning and resource strategies to support future network growth.
  • • Partner with utility and municipal providers to streamline permitting and licensing processes for fiber deployment.
  • • Conduct initial construction reviews in accordance with project specifications and oversee site construction, managing schedules and resources across all projects.
  • • Ensure all jobs are accurately tracked and maintained in the project tracking system with full documentation and compliance.
  • • Coordinate all permitting, licensing, and construction plan development activities for fiber network projects.
  • • Manage the vendor evaluation, selection, and performance process to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality service delivery.
  • • Enforce Zayo’s construction standards, safety protocols, and workmanship practices across all field operations.
  • • Serve as Zayo’s safety observer and Quality Assurance representative at construction sites to ensure full compliance with company safety programs.
  • • Develop and coach direct reports and team members, identifying training gaps and creating clear career development paths.
  • • Maintain current knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure technologies and emerging industry developments to assess their impact on operational processes.
  • • Utilize strong analytical skills to diagnose workflow problems, determine root causes, and implement effective remedies.
  • • Demonstrate expertise in Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) installation standards, fiber optic construction, and network restoration methods.
  • • Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting, planning, and communication.
  • • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment while managing multiple competing priorities and delivering high-quality service.
  • • Uphold the highest ethical and professional standards in all business conduct and decision-making.
  • • Travel up to 10% of the time to project sites with exposure to heavy equipment and environmental conditions; primarily work in an office setting 90% of the time.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum of five (5) years managing large-scale Fiber OSP and ISP development projects (site acquisition, zoning, permitting, construction management)
  • • Minimum of five (5) years of project management experience including budgeting and finance across multiple projects
  • • Previous people management experience
  • • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction-related field OR equivalent work experience
  • • Valid driver’s license
  • • Strong working knowledge of fiber optic infrastructure engineering, construction, and restoration methods
