đź“‹ Description
- • Own and evolve the technical roadmap for one of Sourcewell’s flagship data & integration product lines, translating complex business needs into scalable, secure, and future-proof architectures that power analytics, reporting, and emerging AI capabilities for thousands of public-sector customers.
- • Lead a multidisciplinary team of software, data, and cloud engineers (8-12 FTEs) through the full product lifecycle—from discovery and design to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement—while championing modern DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and code-review practices.
- • Provide hands-on technical guidance in SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and Boomi; personally dive into code reviews, architecture spikes, and production incidents when needed to model engineering excellence and unblock critical work.
- • Architect and govern the enterprise data layer that underpins Salesforce, Workday, Cvent, and dozens of other SaaS integrations, ensuring high availability, low latency, and strict compliance with public-sector security, privacy, and accessibility standards.
- • Drive the organization’s adoption of AI by evaluating, piloting, and operationalizing predictive analytics, automated decisioning, and generative-AI features that enhance digital products and internal operations while aligning with data-governance and ethical-AI policies.
- • Partner with product management, UX, security, and business stakeholders to prioritize epics, define OKRs, and deliver quarterly releases that measurably improve customer experience, reduce total cost of ownership, and accelerate time-to-insight.
- • Establish and track engineering KPIs (cycle time, defect escape rate, data-quality SLAs, cloud spend efficiency) and present actionable insights to senior leadership; own budget variance reporting and resource-forecasting for your area.
- • Mentor and grow talent through individualized development plans, pair-programming, brown-bag sessions, and formal performance management; cultivate a culture of curiosity, psychological safety, and continuous learning that retains top engineers.
- • Serve as the third-line escalation point for production incidents, participating in blameless post-mortems and driving systemic fixes that prevent recurrence across the broader platform.
- • Contribute to Sourcewell’s enterprise architecture repository, ensuring artifacts stay current and reflect emerging patterns such as lakehouse architectures, event-driven integration, and zero-trust security models.
- • Select and manage external consultants or vendors for specialized projects, clearly scoping deliverables, monitoring outcomes, and ensuring knowledge transfer back to internal teams.
- • Champion Sourcewell’s values—Seek, Empower, Impact—by actively participating in cross-functional initiatives, community outreach, and paid volunteer activities that strengthen the public-sector ecosystem we serve.
- • Travel up to 2–3 times per year to Staples, MN for strategic planning, team building, and professional development, while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote day-to-day work environment.
