- • As the Manager of Platform Engineering at Onebrief Inc., you will serve as the operational owner of the infrastructure layer that enables rapid, secure, and reliable software delivery across commercial, government, and classified environments. Your leadership will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of engineering teams by building and maintaining the foundational platform services—such as PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, and Kubernetes-based systems—that power Onebrief’s AI-driven collaboration platform for military staffs. This role is critical to ensuring that Onebrief’s mission-critical software operates with the highest standards of performance, security, and compliance in complex, air-gapped, and hybrid environments.
- • You will lead, mentor, and grow a team of Platform Engineers by providing technical direction, removing impediments, and fostering ownership of core infrastructure and tooling. Your day-to-day responsibilities include driving standards for Infrastructure as Code (using Terraform/Ansible), establishing GitOps workflows, defining service onboarding frameworks, and ensuring observability, reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency across the platform. You will partner closely with Cybersecurity, Product, and Engineering teams to align platform capabilities with mission needs, while owning incident response, post-mortems (After-Action Reviews), runbooks, and continuous improvement of operational maturity.
- • You will act as a key stakeholder in architectural decisions, influencing how the platform integrates with product, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless, secure, and high-velocity delivery. Your work will directly enable developer productivity by reducing friction in deployment pipelines and ensuring that platform services meet stringent DoD and government compliance requirements, including those related to the Risk Management Framework (RMF), STIGs, and ICD 503.

🎯 Requirements
- • 5-8+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering roles, with 2+ years managing engineers, preferably infrastructure-focused teams.
- • Strong technical depth in Kubernetes, AWS (or multi-cloud), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible or similar), with a proven track record of building and maintaining platform services.
- • Demonstrated ability to partner with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Cybersecurity) to translate high-level requirements into actionable plans, particularly in hybrid, air-gapped, or regulated environments.
