📋 Description

• As a Manager, Quality Engineering at Nextech AR Solutions Corp., you will lead and elevate the quality engineering function to ensure the delivery of reliable, high-performance healthcare technology solutions that directly impact patient care and provider efficiency. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping a culture of quality, driving test automation excellence, and enabling faster, safer releases across the organization.
• You will manage a team of software engineers in test and quality engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight while fostering collaboration with development, product, and operations teams to align quality goals with business objectives. Your role is hands-on and strategic—you’ll not only guide the team but also contribute directly to test strategy, automation frameworks, and CI/CD pipeline enhancements.
• Day to day, you will: define and execute the test automation roadmap aligned with product releases; design and maintain scalable, maintainable test frameworks using industry-standard tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar); lead the creation and execution of regression, smoke, and performance test suites; mentor team members in best practices for test design, defect tracking, and root cause analysis; collaborate with DevOps to integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines for rapid feedback; participate in sprint planning and retrospectives to ensure quality is built in, not tested in; drive continuous improvement initiatives in test coverage, defect leakage, and mean time to detect/resolve issues; and report quality metrics to leadership to inform release readiness and risk assessments.
• You will also partner with the Sr. Director of Quality Engineering to translate company-wide quality goals into actionable team plans, manage team capacity and workload, conduct performance evaluations, identify skill gaps, and support hiring and onboarding of new QE talent. Your influence will extend beyond testing to shaping quality gates, release criteria, and compliance readiness for healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 5+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or test automation, with at least 2 years in a people management or technical lead role
• Strong hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium) and programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Proven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines with integrated testing (using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar)
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycles (Agile/Scrum), test strategies (unit, integration, system, regression), and defect management lifecycle
• Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills with a track record of building and motivating high-performing technical teams
