- • Lead and manage a software engineering team responsible for the development, enhancement, and maintenance of production-grade software products for Computer Systems, Inc.
- • Hire, train, evaluate performance, and provide ongoing coaching to engineering team members to ensure alignment with company culture and values.
- • Translate senior management strategy into actionable plans, ensuring team objectives support organizational OKRs and delivery targets.
- • Schedule, assign, and prioritize engineering tasks while adhering to approved budgets and resource constraints.
- • Ensure consistent delivery of software releases by overseeing sprint planning, execution, and deadline adherence across development cycles.
- • Actively participate in sprint, design, and cross-functional meetings to provide technical leadership and facilitate collaboration between teams.
- • Maintain accountability for end-to-end software delivery processes including requirements gathering, architecture design, QA, and release management.
- • Drive continual improvement in team productivity, code quality, and operational efficiency through problem-solving and process optimization.
- • Communicate company policies, technical standards, and strategic priorities clearly to engineering staff and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork.
- • Ensure cross-team collaboration is effectively managed to remove silos and promote shared ownership of software systems.
- • Evaluate and resolve both technical and functional challenges by applying deep understanding of software systems and stakeholder needs.
- • Establish and enforce time management and organizational guidelines for the engineering team to improve predictability and delivery reliability.
- • Promote a proactive, learning-oriented mindset focused on building software quickly, delivering value, and mitigating technical and business risks.
- • Maintain strong interpersonal skills to build trust, resolve conflicts, and motivate team members in a high-collaboration environment.
- • Balance detailed technical oversight with an understanding of the broader business context to prioritize work and make informed decisions.
- • Uphold all company policies, security protocols, and compliance standards across all engineering activities.
- • Perform other duties as assigned to support the operational needs of the software engineering department.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- • 5+ years leading/managing a software engineering team to deliver ready for production software products
- • 2+ years proven experience developing scalable / secure platforms
- • Experience managing all aspects of software delivery, including development, software architecture, QA, requirements, release management, etc.
- • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and time management skills
- • Proactive work habits, strong personal accountability, and experience fostering teamwork across teams
