📋 Description

• As a Manager, Technical Engineering, Product Engineering at Alkami Technology, you will serve as a pivotal technical leader bridging engineering execution with business outcomes, ensuring the high-quality delivery of software that powers digital banking solutions for U.S. financial institutions. This role is critical to Alkami’s mission of enabling Anticipatory Banking through a unified platform that integrates onboarding, digital banking, and data-driven marketing—directly impacting how banks and credit unions engage and grow customer relationships.
• You will lead, mentor, and inspire a team of software engineers while maintaining hands-on technical involvement (20–30%), writing and reviewing code, debugging complex issues, designing scalable APIs, and evolving platform services to meet evolving product and architectural demands.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with Product, Security, Architecture, SRE, Release Management, and TPMs to align engineering efforts with strategic goals, managing on-call incidents to minimize downtime, driving adoption of modern development practices, and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
• You will define and track key engineering KPIs such as deployment frequency, MTTR, test coverage, and SLA adherence, balance speed with quality, optimize resource allocation, and improve team Say/Do ratios to ensure timely delivery of resilient, cost-efficient software.
• Beyond execution, you will champion technical excellence by identifying bottlenecks, reducing technical debt, influencing product roadmaps, introducing new technologies, and owning end-to-end project delivery from concept to production.
• You will work closely with Product Management to translate business needs into technical requirements, assist in writing specifications for technical debt reduction, and report progress, risks, and deliverables to stakeholders to maintain transparency and alignment.
• The role requires ongoing development in management philosophies, deepening knowledge of the banking industry, and understanding segment-specific applications to better serve Alkami’s diverse client base of community banks and credit unions.

🎯 Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software development or related engineering fields, with 5+ years managing engineering teams
• Strong hands-on expertise in multiple technologies including .NET, Java, C#, Linux containers, Kubernetes (k8s), microservices, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), PostgreSQL/MS SQL Server, modern JavaScript frameworks, and observability tools (Grafana, New Relic, Haystack)
• Proven experience building and delivering SaaS-based software using modern architectures (microservices, cloud-native), real-time/event-driven processing, batch processing of high-volume transactions, and scalable role-based access control systems
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, make data-driven decisions, manage multiple concurrent work streams, recruit and mentor software engineers, and communicate effectively with stakeholders across technical and non-technical audiences
• Solid understanding of Operational Excellence principles (DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, observability) and experience applying them throughout the software development lifecycle to improve reliability, scalability, and efficiency
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field (e.g., physics, mathematics), or equivalent technical experience
